Pedro Sosa, councilor spokesman of Izquierda Unida Verdes in the municipality of Lorca, has echoed this morning of the existing concern among residents and associations of the Barrio de San Cristóbal for the incivil and threatening actions of certain people in its streets and squares.
Two of them, both users of Social Services, are old acquaintances of the neighborhood because of the constant altercations that they have produced and the insecurity that they continue to cause.
One lives next to the Church of San Cristóbal and there are many and varied quarrels that occur especially when drunk and the other, resident in the social housing of Ramblilla Tejares, is often asking for parking and plazas in an intimidating and threatening.
Another is an individual of sub-Saharan origin, probably with his mental faculties disturbed and who usually go into a drunken state so that incidents with neighbors are also common.
For Sosa, the behavior of this person is an exception that should not overshadow the work for the benefit of the community that for example exerts the Association of Ghanaians of Lorca, reforesting the surroundings of the Castle or in various cleaning tasks that have been carried out in the town.
Given that the actions do not entail prison sentences for being minor crimes, Sosa asks the Mayor to increase the police presence to give peace of mind to the neighbors and the Department of Social Services, that they carry out a social assessment aimed at their reintegration and reeducation and if it concludes some mental disorder, they are referred to any of the dependent residences of the Community for the mentally ill.
