Marisol Sánchez: "If the PP prefers to maintain it despite the terrible results, it will be a PSOE government which, starting next May, will change the direction of the Rafael Méndez hospital, guiding its management for the benefit of the users of area III. of health, and expanding the staff to match the ratios of the rest of the Region "
The deputy spokesman of the PSOE in the City of Lorca, Marisol Sanchez has announced that the Municipal Socialist Group will ask, at the next plenary session, that the Popular Party cease its position of trust, Mrs. Catalina Lorenzo, current manager of Rafael Méndez hospital.
The socialist mayor highlighted again this morning the indicators that "highlight the deficiencies and serious inequalities suffered by area III of health with respect to other areas of health in the Region of Murcia."
"Indicators that show the need to give a change to area III management".
In primary care, the mayor assured that "both the Regional Government and the Municipal Government have been unable to fulfill their main commitment to Lorca citizenship: building a new Primary Health Care Center in the San Cristóbal neighborhood with a second service of Emergencies, commitment also reiterated publicly in Regional Assembly.
Regarding health care in outpatient clinics, he recalled that "Area III of health records the worst indicators, in terms of waiting lists, since it brings together more than 40% of patients, from the entire Region of Murcia, who remain without appointments. , waiting to be seen by your specialist doctor ".
The mayor recalled that even the Association of Health Users of the Region of Murcia, believes that "the plug" is in consultation with the specialist and diagnostic tests, and also highlights "the serious asymmetry between different areas of health".
Without going any further, while a neighbor of El Palmar or any other neighborhood or district of Murcia East (La Arrixaca) takes just about six days to be seen by the urologist, a Lorca faces a wait of ten months.
Regarding the surgical intervention agenda, and despite the opening of new operating rooms, they are at 60% of its operation, due to the lack of anesthetist doctors, which slows the pace of scheduled interventions.
In relation to health personnel, the shortcomings "are evident and reflect large imbalances in terms of health personnel in other health areas."
"It is not because there are no doctors, but those who do not want to come to work in area III of health because of the climate that has been generated in recent years," as the Medical Union of the Region warned a few weeks ago.
With regard to emergency services, Sánchez Jódar warned, "Area III of health groups the Emergency Services of Primary Care (SUAP) that paid more attention in the last year in the Region of Murcia".
If we talk about equipment, material and structural resources, Marisol Sánchez has warned again that it is significant the slowness with which the implementation of the equipment donated by the Amancio Ortega foundation is being materialized. The agreement was formalized on June 7, 2017
"They have not been able to manage the start-up of the magnetic resonance unit, the scanner or the new mammography machine."
As for infrastructures, he also warned that "the complaints of health personnel are continuous due to the situation of saturation practiced almost daily in the Emergency Department, an area that needs to be expanded and have a pre-admission room to avoid saturating the room of medium care and the observation room.
In terms of accessibility, he also warned that the lack of foresight and involvement on the part of Area III Management is evident when it comes to finding solutions to the lack of parking suffered by each and every one of the citizens of Area III who have to be treated in said hospital.
Therefore, in view of the results obtained in each and every one of the aforementioned aspects, the PSOE understands that "the management of area III throughout these four years has not achieved the results that Lorca citizens need to be able to have the same healthcare quality in health matters as any other citizen of the rest of the Region of Murcia ".
"In any company, this responsible would be dismissed, so we ask the Popular Party, as soon as possible, to cease his position of confidence."
