The PSOE is marked as an objective to solve the lack of space presented by associations and socio-health services.

For this purpose, it proposes the extension of the municipal house of the NGO's and that it be made available to these wider social local collectives, both those that the City Council has disused as well as those resulting from the reconstruction of neighborhoods, such as the one in San Fernando.

The councilor of the PSOE in the City of Lorca, Andrea Periago has announced that his group will request, through a motion in the next plenary session, the expansion of the municipal house of NGOs, as well as making available to the fabric of associations in need of wider spaces, those municipal premises that are available, as well as those resulting from the reconstruction processes of neighborhoods, such as San Fernando.

Andrea Periago recalled that Lorca has always been a reference both for the quantity and the quality of its oenegés and associations.

Oenegés whose work must be acknowledged and highlighted, and which they have been developing "despite the difficulties in which, in many cases, they find themselves, precisely because of the little support they receive from public administrations".

Since the PSOE have shown again that these groups are in need of more space to perform, under optimal conditions, those therapies offered to their users and, on the other hand "many of these therapies should be covered by the Murciano Health Service ".

"It is already up to the medical professionals themselves who refer many patients to these NGOs and associations, to make up for the deficiencies that the Murcian Health Service has", which he assures, "this makes them, at the same time, look overflowing, having unacceptable waiting lists ".

The mayor assures that the house of the ONG's "has remained small" since this building is already shared by more than ten oenegés and sociosanitary associations, "many of them with great daily activity".

"This building was born with good will, but small."

"The problem due to the lack of space is also shared by associations that are outside this building, such as the Alzheimer's association and Parkinson's association," says the mayor.

That is why, for the PSOE "is a priority, first, to address the expansion of the house of the NGOs, taking into account the current and future needs, as well as making available to other associations, such as Parkinson's and Alzheimer's, broader social premises to be able to offer their services with the maximum guarantees, as well as to put an end to those waiting lists, which are so necessary for many families in the municipality. "

The mayor has insisted that "much more responsible use can be made of the premises owned by the municipality as well as those that the council has for rent, since it is not understood that several rents have been paid whose premises have been closed during months or years, without giving it use, having the needs that have collectives such as those mentioned. "
