The candidate for Mayor of Lorca, Diego José Mateos has been marked as "unwavering objective" undertake the comprehensive renovation of the sports city of La Torrecilla, whose remodeling is still pending after the earthquakes.

Mateos stressed that the SOL project, with solutions for Lorca, proposes the complete renovation of the sports complex of La Torrecilla, and of course, the progressive recovery of the set of sports facilities scattered throughout the municipality "invaded by laziness."
Mateos has indicated that "since Europe gives us one more year to be able to finance works under the EIB, we have the opportunity, now or never, to include the complete remodeling of the sports city of La Torrecilla. , will be one of the first measures that we will take from May ".
In this sense, Mateos showed his satisfaction after achieving that, after the insistence of the PSOE, the CARM has yielded and has sought a new extension to finance the outstanding works.
Mateos recalled that "if there is a sports facility that suffered the consequences of the earthquake, and also the wear and tear of housing the damaged camps, that is the sports city of La Torrecilla".
The candidate for mayor has insisted that "there was a project, which the PP announced worth 5 million euros, which overnight disappeared from the regional funds.
"We are facing the opportunity, as I say, to undertake the renovation that the Torrecilla Complex needs, to clean and condition its facilities, so they can shine again," said Mateos.
"Lorca clubs, associations and athletes deserve decent facilities, they deserve that Lorca, from the sport, from the quality of its sports facilities, to shine again."
Through this project, as indicated by Mateos, "opens the opportunity to clean up the whole of the sports city, and of course, to tackle projects such as the renovation of the velodrome, the athletics track, the covering of the bleachers of the 82 World Cup, the tennis courts and why not, to expand the glass of the pool so that Lorca can be a city to host official swimming competitions, as demanded by the Lorca collective of the sector ".
Mateos has insisted on the need to undertake a comprehensive renovation of the municipal sports facilities that are spread throughout the length and breadth of the municipality.
"We believe that it would be more priority to invest those 800,000 euros of public money, that the PP wants to invest in recovering the demolished Molino del Escarambrujo, something that for Lorca as a whole is much more necessary, such as the remodeling of abandoned sports facilities such as the sports complex of Los Tollos, the soccer field of Coy or La Paca, among many others ".
