The Civil Guard of the Region of Murcia, in collaboration with the Local Police of Lorca, has developed the operation 'BELL', a research aimed at clarifying several robberies in homes and catering establishments in the hamlet of La Campana Lorca, which has culminated with the dismantling of a criminal group.
Three young people, neighbors of La Campana-Lorca, have been arrested as alleged perpetrators of the crimes of robbery with force, threats, injuries, damage and belonging to a criminal organization.
Two of those arrested have been remanded in custody.
An 'airsoft' sports pistol has been seized and two stolen TVs have been recovered.
The investigation began at the end of last year, when the Civil Guard learned of several robberies committed in homes in the hamlet of La Campana Lorca, facts that had generated some social alarm in the area.
Citizen collaboration
Thanks to the collaboration of citizens and the results of the investigations, the agents focused the investigation on a group of young people, neighbors of the area, allegedly related to the robberies, who had also threatened several neighbors, even using a those used for the practice of 'airsoft'.
The Civil Guard, in collaboration with the Local Police of Lorca, established numerous services that allowed to identify them and find out that several of them belonged to the same family, as well as that they had a bulky criminal record.
His surveillance was positive with the location of a house, located in La Campana-Lorca, where it was suspected that they had meetings to organize the robberies and store the stolen objects until they were given an outlet in the 'black market'.
Recently, once the necessary evidence has been obtained, the investigation has culminated in the arrest of three male persons, of Spanish nationality and aged between 19 and 24 years as alleged perpetrators of the crimes of robbery with force, threats, injuries, damages and belonging to a criminal organization.
A recreational-sports weapon for the practice of airsoft was seized in the house and two television sets were recovered.
According to the investigation, the arrested were part of a criminal group, of a family nature, dedicated to theft with force and with escalo in real estate in the hamlet of Lorca, La Campana, their place of residence.
Knowing the habits and routines of their neighbors, they carried out previous surveillance to ensure their absence and to foresee the presence of witnesses.
The appearance of the weapon used is identical to that of a real firearm
Despite this, they did not hesitate to threaten some of those who knew of their disordered life and who suspected their possible relationship with thefts.
For it, they used a short weapon, of those used for the practice of airsoft, with which they came to effect a warning detonation next to one of the victims, which did not reach him.
It is a playful-sporting weapon that throws small plastic balls and that, depending on the distance for which it is used, are of greater or lesser power.
These simulate with total accuracy the characteristics of a real firearm, so it is very difficult to differentiate them.
The BELL operation has culminated in the dismantling of a dangerous criminal group, whose three members have been arrested as alleged perpetrators of the crimes of burglary, threats, injuries, damage and belonging to a criminal organization.
A recreational-sportive airsoft weapon has been seized and two televisions recovered from the theft have been recovered.
The three detainees, the seized weapon, the recovered effects and the diligences instructed have been placed at the disposal of the Court of Instruction of Lorca who has ordered the entry into preventive detention of two of those arrested.
The investigation continues open in order to determine their possible involvement in robberies committed in homes in other districts of the municipality of Lorca.
