The Rafael Méndez de Lorca Hospital has welcomed today the constitution of the commission that will guarantee the continuity of health care processes for people with severe mental disorder and drug dependencies for the health area on which this center depends.
The event was attended by the general director of Planning, Research, Pharmacy and Citizen Services, Teresa Martínez;
and the general secretary of the Ministry of Family and Equal Opportunity, Manuel Marcos.
The Commission will ensure the correct implementation of the Socio-Health Coordination Protocol on Mental Health, an initiative that arises from the joint work between the Ministries of Health, and Family and Equal Opportunities, together with the municipalities of Lorca, Totana, Aledo, Puerto Lumbreras and Águilas, as well as some associations in the field of mental health.
Its purpose is to guarantee comprehensive care for patients and their families, strengthening the current levels of coordination in the health, social, labor and third sector areas.
With this initiative the constitution of these commissions continues in all health areas of the Region, an initiative that has already been launched in the Murcia East area, in the Vega Media and in the Yecla area.
