The Civil Guard of the Region of Murcia, within the services established for the prevention of public safety, has seized 81 kilograms of marijuana, arranged in buds, which were transported in a stolen vehicle with bent plates, which occurred to the flight of a control established on the A-91 motorway, at the height of the municipality of Puerto Lumbreras.
The events took place at dawn, when the Benemérita had established a control to verify people and vehicles in an exit of the A-91 motorway, at the height of Puerto Lumbreras.
The driver of one of the vehicles that approached the device, when the civil guards proceeded to identify its occupant, instead of slowing down, accelerated and tried to escape control.
The agents reacted quickly and cut him off to prevent him from getting on the highway again, forcing him to take a service road with no way out.
Finally, being cornered and unable to continue, he left the vehicle and fled on foot from the place.
Moments later, the Civil Guards carried out an exhaustive inspection of the vehicle that allowed to find, in the back of the same, a high number of bags containing marijuana buds vacuum packed.
The drug, a total of 81 bags, yielded a total weight of 81 kilograms, which would reach a high value in the illicit market and which has already been brought to justice.
After the seizure of the drug and the vehicle, which had been stolen and that carried plates of doubled license plates, the Civil Guard has opened an investigation with the aim of clarifying the facts and locating its responsible.
The drug seized, the effects seized and the diligences instructed have been made available to the Court of Instruction of Lorca (Murcia).
