Navarro requires Lorca City Council and Segura Hydrographic Confederation to investigate the origin of these discharges and reiterates the urgency of accelerating the procedures for the construction of a large rainwater collector in the industrial area
The councilor of the PSOE in the City of Lorca, Antonio Navarro has denounced a new dumping "illegal and apparently toxic" from the Saprelorca Industrial Estate to the channel known as Rambla Alta in the municipality of Lorca.
As it has shown, it is a spill that "by its color and smell, could contain a high index of contamination".
To date, he says, "it has not been possible to determine who or who are responsible for this spill."
Navarro has reiterated that these spills "are repeated with some frequency."
In fact, it is not the first time that the PSOE denounces the occurrence of these events.
The mayor has said that it is common that these spills occur especially on rainy days, with the idea, apparently, "that they are diluted between rainwater and have less visual impact."
In this case, given the scarcity of rainfall, you can really see the magnitude of the amount of dumping.
Given such discharge, from the PSOE "we demand that the City along with the Confederación Hidrográfica del Segura, immediately begin investigations the origin of these seemingly toxic spills, and proceed to initiate the corresponding sanctioning files to put an end to this environmental problem that has made years greatly affects the neighbors and the environment. "
In addition, Antonio Navarro has reiterated the "urgent need" that is undertaken "as soon as possible" the processing and execution of the rain collector in the industrial estate, as soon as possible, to prevent these spills from happening again.
