The Town Councilor of Lorca, José Luis Ruiz Guillén, said that it is "a design accepted by the previous government team and now we are working to solve the difficulties that are emerging."
The City Councilor of the City of Lorca, José Luis Ruiz Guillén, said that "the Consistory is working to address the traffic problems that the new roundabout of the Carretera de Águilas is generating."
Ruiz Guillén explained that "this roundabout, located on the well-known as the old road of Águilas, and that gives access to the new private educational center of the city, is a design accepted by the previous government team, and now we are working to solve the difficulties that are arising. "
The Edil de Urbanismo detailed that "the promoter of the work and the architects will make a modification that will be presented to the City Council and, immediately, studied by the municipal urban planning technicians together with Local Police so that they do not produce situations of road insecurity so much of the residents of the area, drivers and future users of the center. The solution would also happen, also, by placing some type of projection that slows the speed of the vehicles in addition to carrying out some corrective action with respect to the roundabout. "
The Councilor has informed that the residents of Campillo have expressed their complaints about the traffic problems that this new infrastructure is generating and have done so through a letter sent to the Mayor of Lorca, Diego José Mateos, and in which they ask " improvements as there are situations in which trucks and buses invade the sidewalks and even the opposite lane to have a reduced space, assuming a risk for pedestrians and other drivers, "a request for which Mateos has given order to urban planning technical services to be studied and solved urgently.
