The Councilor for Youth of the City of Lorca, José Ángel Ponce Díaz, said goodbye Wednesday night to members of the Ciudad del Sol scout group that from today until August 15 will enjoy their summer camp 'Helios 2019' in Hoyos del Espino, in Ávila.
The Councilor for Youth recalled that "in this edition about 195 kids will participate in the camp, from 8 to 20 years. Between this Wednesday and until tomorrow Friday they will be in charge of the general assembly of the camp following the scout techniques of constructions, moorings and cabochon" .
Ponce has detailed that, for this next Saturday, August 3, the inauguration is planned, and Sunday will be group day.
Throughout the camp there will be trips to Poyales del Hoyo, Candeleda (Claw Road and Kipling Route), Navalperal de Tormes, Bohoyo, San Esteban and Cuevas del Valle, in addition to the Scout section 70 components that will move to neighboring Cáceres to Jerte and region.
From Tuesday 7 to Friday 10 the Lorca scouts will join the campaign to prevent forest fires 'Protect your forest, protect your home' launched by Greenpeace and Scouts of Spain, specifically in the town of Barco de Ávila , "an opportunity for our children to become aware and help raise awareness in society of the importance of fire prevention".
The mayor of Youth recalled that this Sunday, August 11, has been chosen as the 'Father's Day', which will make 150 families move that weekend to go sightseeing in the area, stay in the lodges from the region of the ship even in Ávila and visit the children.
On Tuesday, August 13, the camp will be officially closed in the afternoon, and on Wednesday, 14 will be dedicated to dismantling, to undertake that night the trip back to Lorca where they will arrive on Thursday, August 15.
Since 1969, in which the 'Ciudad del Sol' group was founded, traditional scout camps have been carried out where scout constructions are carried out, self-management of the activities by the students.
