The Department of Emergencies recommends that you protect yourself from high temperatures to avoid heat stroke before the warning issued by the State Meteorological Agency.
The Councilor for Emergency of the City of Lorca, Isabel Casalduero, recalled this morning the importance of following the basic tips to avoid heat stroke during the period of high temperatures for the next few days announced by the State Meteorological Agency.
Casalduero explained that "the State Meteorological Agency has put Lorca on yellow alert today due to the forecast of high temperatures that could reach 40 degrees on this day."
The Edil has specified that "it will be tomorrow when the notice rises to orange level, that is, the forecast is to exceed 40 degrees. An alert that, in particular, would affect Lorca, Guadalentín Valley, Aguilas, Vega del Segura , Altiplano and Northwest of the Region of Murcia ".
Casalduero Jódar, in order to avoid heat stroke and to protect against high temperatures, has recalled recommendations such as "drinking water and liquids frequently, even if you do not feel thirsty and regardless of the physical activity you do; pay special attention to infants and young children, older people and people with diseases that can be aggravated by heat and dehydration, although anyone can suffer a problem related to heat; stay as long as possible in cool, shaded or heated places and cool off every when needed; reduce physical activity and avoid outdoor sports during the hottest hours and make light meals that help replenish the salts lost by sweat: salads, fruits, vegetables or juices. "
