They are credited with the alleged authorship of the crime of illegal detention and injuries
The victims, mother and daughter, have been located in a house attached to a livestock farm, in a room with basic living conditions
The arrested are the sentimental couple and father, and the brother-in-law and uncle of the woman and her daughter respectively
The Civil Guard of the Region of Murcia has developed the operation 'BABYRUM', an investigation established to clarify the alleged crimes of illegal detention and injuries committed against a woman and her daughter in Lorca, which has concluded with the location and release of these and the detention of the sentimental partner of the mother and his brother as alleged perpetrators of the crimes of illegal detention and injuries.
The proceedings began last Tuesday, August 6, when the central services of the Civil Guard received a communication from the authorities of Romania in which they reported on the possible situation of danger in which a Romanian citizen, of 20 years, and his daughter, circumstances communicated by the victim himself in a phone call made to his mother, who was in Romania, in which he tells him that both his sentimental partner and his brother had forbidden him to leave the house he occupied since arriving in Spain, withdrawing the documentation and routinely assaulting both her and the girl.
The EMUME (Woman-Minor Team) of the Organic Judicial Police Unit of the Civil Guard of Murcia, the Territorial Team of the Judicial Police of Águilas and Citizen Security Prevention Units of the Civil Guard of Lorca and Zarcilla de Ramos deployed a wide device with the purpose of locating the mother and her daughter.
The device paid off only a few hours later, when the civil guards managed to locate both of them that same afternoon on a farm in the municipality of Lorca.
The agents also found in the place two men who were, presumably, after the authorship of the criminal acts investigated, a sentimental couple and father of the victims and the other brother of the former.
The victims were transferred to the Rafael Méndez de Lorca Regional Hospital to be recognized for health services and receive the necessary medical assistance.
Civil guards arrested the two suspects as alleged perpetrators of the crime of illegal detention and injuries.
The mother and the girl had mild injuries, although it is ruled out that they suffered some type of sexual assault or abuse.
Mother and daughter occupied a small room with basic conditions of habitability and health.
From the research carried out, it appears that the woman arrived in Spain with her sentimental partner and their common daughter about two weeks ago, after having motivated them to come from Romania, her partner's brother for having found a job for him.
After arriving in Spain and the house where she had to live, the woman showed her disagreement to live in these conditions and her intentions to return to Romania, being from that moment when she was supposedly coerced to stay in the house, she received bad treatment by his brother-in-law consented to by his partner, who was not allowed to leave while they were working and allegedly prevented him from returning to his country of origin, although she managed to contact her mother, who was in Romania, by telephone. He informed about his situation and asked him to report it to the authorities of that country.
The Romanian authorities, after being alerted to the events, contacted urgently with the Spanish to report what happened.
Romanian authorities in Spain have been informed of the location of the woman and her daughter, who in turn have contacted the victims to meet their possible needs to return to their country of origin.
After their location, both victims were offered the resources available for victims of gender-based violence of social services, such as accommodation, transfer and maintenance.
The Romanian detainees, 24 and 20 years of age, and residents in Lorca, and the proceedings taken have been made available to the Court of Instruction of Lorca (Murcia).
