The Minister of Water, Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Environment, Antonio Luengo, visited today the facilities of the Association of Sanitary Defense of Livestock of Lorca where he held a meeting with his representatives to know the situation of the sector and the challenges to which face.
Luengo highlighted the "important" work of this group "to ensure food security", and stressed the need to "work in a coordinated manner" with the sector and hold regular meetings to assess the success of the actions taken to improve Livestock production figures.
Among the issues to be addressed, the counselor prioritized "the streamlining of administrative procedures that farmers have to complete for the processing of environmental authorizations of livestock facilities", which could be favored by the implementation of a Livestock Unit capable of Advise professionals in the sector and reduce the deadlines for the procedures that must be completed for the proper functioning of their farms.
