Pedro Sosa, spokesman councilor of Izquierda Unida Verdes in the municipality of Lorca, has denounced this morning the passivity of the competent administrations in river matters, both local and autonomous, to stop the proliferation of debris in the bed of the Guadalentín River and the withdrawal of The existing ones.

For this reason, it brought a motion to the Plenary of that month in which they were requested to withdraw them, intensify surveillance, as well as awareness campaigns and poster placement warning of the prohibition of littering and debris.

"Well, they have not done the simplest thing, to place the prohibition signs to throw debris under penalty of fine," the mayor has censored.

Although the agreements of said motion were approved unanimously by all groups, neither the previous Popular Party government team, nor the Segura Hydrographic Confederation competent in the matter did nothing as agreed.

"The Segura basin is not only the passage of the Segura River as it passes through the regional capital" said the mayor in reference to the beautification actions that the CHS is executing in the city of Murcia, but the Guadalentín River also forms part of it and needs actions that prevent it from becoming one of the dirtiest channels in Europe and that the surroundings of the Via Augusta are definitely put in value, which runs through one of our most beautiful districts, Diputación de Río .

For all these reasons, Sosa asks the Mayor of the new PSOE Government team and his councilors responsible for the Environment and Pedanías, to retake the motion that Plenary took from IU, and to require the President of the CHS to exercise his powers of surveillance and maintenance that has been entrusted and that from the local administration awareness and awareness campaigns are developed to prevent the occurrence of discharges into the river and that these are deposited in the place enabled for it at the municipal landfill.
