The Councilor for Culture, María Ángeles Mazuecos, said that "this exhibition, made by the students of the photographic project course at the Popular University, will be inaugurated next Tuesday, September 3, at the Huerto Ruano at 8:30 p.m. ".
The Councilor for Culture of the City of Lorca, María Ángeles Mazuecos, presented, this morning, together with Juan Francisco Ros, representative of the Popular University of Lorca, the artistic program "El Paso del Tiempo", a work done by the students of the course of photographic projects of this institution developed throughout this course.
The Councilor for Culture has indicated that "this exhibition, which will be inaugurated next Tuesday, September 3, in the Ruano Garden from 8:30 pm, can be visited until September 17".
According to Mazuecos, "in the photographic workshops about 40 students have participated who have searched for recognized places in Lorca and have used people to make photographic compositions using different photographic techniques."
The mayor highlighted "the innovative nature of this project, whose intention was to show atypical images of Lorca bringing students the keys to develop a photographic project. It has been a long process, a year of work and with an exit from two hours once a week. From the beginning the students have believed in an idea, designed it, shaped it using creative and very personal techniques in some cases. "
On the other hand, the lorquino photographer, Pedro Javier Alcázar, better known as the 'Niño de las Luces', professor of this course has stressed that "during the course the participants have always sought a different and creative photography, resulting in this project photography that we believe does justice to photography and shows the speed with which the days pass before our eyes. "
Alcázar stressed that "a collective work has never been achieved using a similar technique, showing images of Lorca not known at all. The students, in addition to learning to develop unconventional photographs, have been able to develop their creativity from the beginning. That was the intention of the course, to know the mechanisms to work on a photographic project throughout a whole year. "
