The mayor of Rural Development, Antonio Navarro, points out that from the Consistory the appropriate works have already been carried out for the adaptation of the urban sections of the Rambla de Los Peñones, Las Señoritas and Las Chatas.

The Councilor for Rural Development and Pedanías of the City of Lorca, Antonio Navarro, said that "several actions have already been carried out on the waterways that run through the urban area of ​​the city to avoid problems before the arrival of the rainy season torrential. "

Antonio Navarro recalled that the boulevards are competences of the Hydrographic Confederation of the Segura (CHS) and that since last July, several requests have been submitted by the Consistory asking for the cleaning of the Guadalentín River, Rambla 17 Arcos, Rambla Salada , Rambla de Béjar, Rambla del Pintao, Rambla de La Torrecilla, Rambla de la Peladilla, Rambla del Cementerio, Rambla de Los Arcos, Rambla de Las Chatas, Rambla de las Señoritas, Rambla de Mouliaá, Canal de Bujerque, Rambla de Los Mateos , Alquería de Beas, Rambla del Cementerio, a cliff that crosses the N-340 road, and Rambla de Torralba, among others.

The mayor has affirmed that "until the moment of all the boulevards that we have asked to be cleaned, we have proof that the CHS has acted in the Rambla de los Arcos and in the Rambla Salada and that works are planned soon, among others, on the Rambla de la Morata ".

Navarro has indicated that from the City Council, cleaning tasks have been carried out in urban sections corresponding to the Consistory, and through the Employment Programs of the Regional Councils, the Rambla de Los Peñones, that of Las Señoritas and the from Las Chatas.

The mayor of Rural Development has again insisted on "the need for cleaning these channels for what these requests have been processed, not for fear of fires, but the threat of cold drop of these dates and the consequent floods that could occur. "

The councilor has reiterated that "it is important to carry out these works because when it rains in Lorca it is done in a torrential manner, which causes dragging and if the waterways are not clean the water outlets are clogged", and recalled the need for the construction of timely rolling dams "to avoid consequences such as those caused by the rains of September 2012".
