The mayor, Diego José Mateos, argues that after meeting with the user families of this service, a deadline has been set on October 1 to find a definitive solution that will continue to keep these units open.
The mayor of Lorca, Diego José Mateos, has assured that "from the Consistory all the necessary steps will be carried out to continue taking care of children from 0 to 3 years of the high districts of Lorca".
Mateos who met this Sunday with the parents of children who go to the Child Care Point (MYP) of La Paca, said that "has been set until October 1 to find a suitable solution to the regulations in force and with which the current situation can be put to an end, which is a direct consequence of the patches that have been put on by the previous government team of the Popular Party, who outsourced this service avoiding their responsibility, and that is why they have left looking for short-term solutions, without tackling the true root of the problem. "
The mayor argues that "the most immediate decision to be taken is to keep these units open while studying other formulas that allow us to facilitate access to more children, because we have to remember that currently there are 96 children censored in the high districts, only six go to the MYP ".
Mateos Molina has reiterated that "we must undoubtedly encourage more families to use this service so that it can be economically viable, for this it is clear that we will continue to contact the neighbors with whom we will opt for the best solution from the point of view also social ", as well as the" firm commitment of the Consistory so that in one way or another this service can continue to be maintained ".
