A program for the reuse of books of Secondary, Bachelor and Vocational Training and facilitate the saving of families as well as guarantee a second life to the copies.
The Councilor for Youth, José Ángel Ponce, has announced the start of the second phase of the Book Exchange Bank (BILT), which will run until October 11, and is located on the University Campus of Lorca.
Ponce has detailed that "it is the second phase of an exchange in which books of Secondary, Bachelor and Vocational Training are accepted since the books of Primary will be covered by the Ministry of Education and that, one more year, is giving very good results".
The Edil explained that "the initiative, whose first phase took place from July 2 to 26, maintains similar figures to those collected in past editions and is assuming an average saving of € 250 in purchases of textbooks per child. A project that in addition to facilitating the saving of families during the popularly known as 'back to school', as well as giving a second life to textbooks betting on the reuse of paper and recycling of copies. "
In addition, it has shown that "currently the total number of books collected is 5,223 units, and while delivered are already 2,365. In addition, the number of visits to the website where you can check the list of all available copies as well as check the books that will be used in each of the schools in Lorca and book them (www.emavia.com) already has 207,927 visits and, thanks to this page, more than a hundred previous appointments have already been scheduled ".
The Councilor recalled that "those interested should deliver valid textbooks for the 2019/2020 academic year in Building A of the University Campus from Monday to Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., where six people work full time for carry out a system of valuation of the specimens in which the state in which the specimens are found (new, underlined, widely used ...) and giving a correlative economic value ".
An initiative that, recalled the Councilor, is launched by the Department of Youth of the City of Lorca in collaboration with the company El Molino, Leisure and Free Time;
Municipal secondary education centers and the Federation of Fathers and Mothers of Lorca.
