At present, this association has 26 users with Intellectual Disability of various kinds who are offered individualized attention depending on their needs.

The mayor of Lorca, Diego José Mateos, the councilor of NGOs, María Dolores Chumillas and the president of Down Lorca, José Ortuño, presented, this morning, the program of activities of this group for the new course 2019-2020 that It includes a wide range of services for users of this association.

The mayor of Lorca has highlighted the work carried out by the Down Lorca Association "which offers individualized attention attending to the needs of each user throughout its entirety with stages ranging from childhood to adulthood, always promoting autonomy and adequate social, family, school and work inclusion. "

Mateos recalled that "currently Lorca has 26 users with Intellectual Disability of various kinds and a total of seven professionals are responsible for carrying out the services that meet the needs of its users."

For his part, the president of Down Lorca, José Ortuño, has detailed that "in addition to the services, various activities and charitable actions are carried out throughout the year to be able to finance the rest of the programs we have, actions such as the 2019 Ballot Draw that we already have at your disposal during the months of September and October, the 2020 Solidarity Calendar that will be available from November, Benefit Concerts, our annual Gala with the Carmen Romero Dance Academy, etc ... "

From Down Lorca they offer different services that are divided into four stages: children, school, adult life (TVA) and Personal Autonomy Promotion Service (SEPAP), the latter subsidized by the IMAS and free for all users who access it.

The technical team covers the areas of psychology, social work, family care, social education, speech therapy and pedagogy.

The president of Down Lorca has indicated that they begin the new course "with great enthusiasm loaded with ideas and new projects so that people with Intellectual Disability can have a full and satisfactory life".

It should be noted that, since February 2017, Down Lorca has a new headquarters of 180 m2, located on Lope Gisbert Street, in which its users participate in different programs and therapies.
