This morning the meeting of the Local Security Board was held in which the different State Security Forces and Corps participated to coordinate all the troops that will be available these days.
The mayor of Lorca, Diego José Mateos, together with the Government delegate in the Region of Murcia, Francisco Jiménez, has chaired this morning the meeting of the Local Security Board on the occasion of the celebration of the Fair and Festivals of Lorca from 20 to September 29th.
The mayor of Lorca has detailed that "the security device will ensure that we can all enjoy these days of the Fair and give a quick response in the event that there is some kind of emergency for what as there have been other years there will be a perfect coordination between the different Bodies and State Security Forces. This operation will be formed by almost 400 troops that will focus their vigilance on the enclaves of the Day Fair, malls and Huerto de la Rueda, but also in other areas of the city, like the districts. "
Mateos has detailed that "in this Plan that will be in operation from 7 pm on Friday, September 20 and until Sunday, September 29, more than 170 agents of the State Security Forces and Bodies will be mobilized, between Police National and Civil Guard, 127 agents of the Local Police, as well as 40 private security guards. "
The First Edil recalled that "this plan is an additional effort for all the professionals who integrate it whose work is coordinated to keep the city protected. It is a large joint operation that will be adapted, if required, to the needs concrete that arise in order to respond effectively. "
The objective of the Plan is to ensure the normal development of the Fair and Festivals of Lorca, from Local Police a total of 123 services will be provided at the Day Fair, 187 at the Huerto de la Rueda Fairgrounds and 84 services in the operations corresponding to the events programmed in the Fair Program.
In total, 394 Security Surveillance and Control services will be carried out.
Mateos has also made a call to citizen collaboration "so that all those neighbors of the urban center of Lorca, but also those of the districts and the citizens who visit us can enjoy these festivities, but always from civicism and common sense, and respecting the established rules of coexistence ".
The Huerto de la Rueda fairgrounds will have extraordinary surveillance, including the presence of Local Police agents and private security personnel, with the usual coordination incorporated in the Security Plan established for this purpose.
The Local Police will patrol the area continuously, both civilian and uniformed.
The agents will also monitor the Alamedas area with several motorcycle and horse patrols on certain days that massive influx of public is expected.
The Local Police, in addition, will restrict the passage of heavy vehicles through areas of influx of people, following the necessary criteria of prevention that are kept in junctions like the one that our country currently lives.
López Gisbert Street will be cut off to traffic on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays between 1pm.
and 9pm, and on Sundays between 1pm.
and 20 hours.
The Local Police will take the corresponding measures according to the level of terrorist alert, properly locating the distribution of agents, fencing, vehicles and police equipment, in order to establish security perimeters in pedestrian areas and concentration of personnel and public.
8,700 parking spaces
The forecast for parking spaces is that a total of 8,700 distributed in 17 parking areas and 8 lots enabled for this purpose are available in San Diego Shopping Center, Felipe VI Sports Complex, Santa Clara Avenue, Bullring, Alameda Rafael Méndez next to the Jardines de Lorca Hotel, Juan Antonio Dimas Street, Marín Road, La Merced, Menchirón Parking, Plaza Colón Underground Parking, Siervas Parking (Asprodes), San Vicente Square, Lorca- Plaza, public parking " Pasarela ", Parking of the Municipal Vehicle Deposit in Santa Quitería in front of Huerto la Rueda, among other locations up to a total of 4,300 parking spaces.
In addition, new lots have been enabled with 4,400 parking spaces, close to the Solar Fairground, opposite the AA.VV.
Virgen de las Huertas, in the Ctra. La Pulgara, next to the restaurant "Ventarique", two other lots in Ctra. La Pulgara, near the intersection C /.
Santa Quiteria, on the Cartagena Road, next to the Guadalentín River speed bump, the access plot by Camino del Gato, in front of Commissariat and the plot between Camino Marín and Actor Antonio Tudela Street.
From the Department of Public Safety they advise that the vehicle be used as little as possible, since on the occasion of the Fair from Puente Tocinos Street to the Rotunda of the Huerto de la Rueda will cut traffic from 20 hours, every day of fair, from September 20 to 29 and pedestrian traffic will be preferred, to give maximum security.
For this reason, duly marked alternative routes will be offered, by new roundabout (former Vallecas Bridge), Los Chaparros Road, La Pía Bridge, Ctra. La Pulgara and parking areas of the Fair, or by Avda. Europa, San Diego Crossing and Juan Street Antonio Dimas, so that the least possible retentions occur in these areas near the indicated Fair, with maximum pedestrian traffic.
In any case, if a person detects any activity that he considers suspicious or wants to highlight any incident, we encourage citizen collaboration through 112 or directly to the Local Police through 092.
