"
Mateos recalled that "Fericab is not only a contest, it is an exhibition space, a must for companies, professionals, ranchers, technicians, veterinarians, for its strong commercial interest. Everything that has to do with the world of the horse is unites during these days in our city to where companies arrive to publicize and promote each and every one of the novelties related also to the services, food, equipment, facilities, etc "sector.

On the other hand, the mayor has advanced that this year the honoree will be, posthumously, the rejoneador Ángel Peralta Pineda, born in La Puebla del Río, Seville, on March 18, 1926. Pineda debuted with an audience in the Plaza de La Pañoleta (Sevilla) in 1945 and in Las Ventas in 1948 with a Molero bull, accompanied by the killers Morenito de Talavera Chico, Rafael Yagüe and Antonio Chaves Flores.
He is considered the most important and influential rejoneador of the 20th century, with notable triumphs in practically all the leading squares of the national scene such as Madrid or Seville.
To his successes alone must be added those he reaped with his brother Rafael, or those who also added the two brothers with Álvaro Domecq and Lupi, becoming known as the "Four Horsemen of Apotheosis", in the 60s. He was active for 55 years, in which he has dealt about six thousand bulls.
He was also a poet, writer, actor, horseman, rancher and key figure of the rejoneo, who taught for many years with his brother Rafael.
Among his published books are 'Cabriola (Seville, 1960)', 'Bullfighter horse (Cologne, Germany, 1971)', written in collaboration with the painter Capuletti, 'Spoon', translated into French, 'My dream with the Bird and the Bull (1995) ',' The centaur of the marshes'.
He participated in the editions of Fericab 2006 and 2007 with his shows with great success of critics and audiences that recalled the participation of both brothers in the 70s in the processions of the city.
In 2013 the Government awarded him the Medal of Merit in Fine Arts and died in April of last year in Seville at age 93.
The Fericab program will include, as in previous years, the CDN *** Fericab - ANCCE Cup Contest, the National Morfofunctional PRE Contest and the Absolute High School Championship, in addition to the shows.
Finally, Mateos has encouraged all horse lovers to visit this fair and enjoy all the events planned for that week within the extensive program.
