This sample is included in the Exhibition Space Program that the CARM launched several years ago to "promote local plastic artists, as well as to facilitate the possibility of having a quality cultural program".
The Councilor for Culture of the City of Lorca, María Ángeles, will open next Tuesday 17, at 8:00 p.m. at the Cultural Center, the exhibition 'Convergent Encounters' by the artist Yolanda Martínez Navarro and will remain open until next, 30 September.
The Councilor for Culture has stressed that "this exhibition is the result of collaboration between the Consistory of Lorca and the Autonomous Community and that it is included in the Program of Exhibition Spaces that the CARM, through the Ministry of Tourism and Culture, specifically the ICARM , it has been doing in recent years throughout the Region. "
Mazuecos has pointed out that "coinciding with the celebration of the September Fair in our city, we will be able to enjoy the exhibition of the Lumbrerense artist, Yolanda Martínez, who maintains great ties with our city, since, for a while, it is sculpture monitor of the Municipal School of Plastic Arts of Lorca where he transmits his knowledge to those interested in the art of sculpture.
The mayor explained that "Martínez offers us these holidays, an exhibition entitled Convergent Encounters, conducted with mixed media, whose objectives are the search for communication between different elements, the enhancement of the abstract imagination, the study of compositional capacity and , in short, convergence, dialogue, sharing, between disparate elements. "
The artist has a degree in Sociology, Master in Art Therapy and Plastic Mediation, a Diploma in Social Work and a Higher Technician in Arts Applied to Sculpture.
In addition, he has made and collaborated in a very large number of exhibitions, both individual and collective.
The sample consists of a set of 40 mixed media paintings, medium and large formats, made on watercolor paper in rigid support with DM, which highlight the mirror effect and the vividness of the color.
For its part, the artist herself argues that "these works deal with the communication between two elements, in principle independent such as black and red, but that through their manipulation create a dialogue, becoming an interesting tandem."
For Martínez "in turn it is about encounters that the artist has reached through trips, sun bets, horizons, her encounter with the sea, in the city ... as well as to coincidences that are not coincidence, meetings of friendship and how you meet them, people with whom you agree, from which to learn, people who continue in your life, liquid friendships ... and a long list of encounters with society that determine the line and the accessories used to create each one of the pictures ".
This is the third edition of the "Exhibition Space Plan", an initiative sponsored by the Institute of Cultural Industries and Arts of the Region of Murcia (ICA) in order to promote local plastic artists, facilitate municipalities the possibility of having a quality cultural program and value the exhibition spaces available in these municipalities.
