The Department of Mobility of the City of Lorca adheres to the European commemoration of the event with the deactivation of traffic lights, a photo contest or the creation of a 'bike-registration'.
The Councilor for Mobility of the City of Lorca, Irene Jódar, has presented with the Councilor for Commerce, Francisco Morales, and the head of Local Police of Lorca, José Antonio San Segundo, the city's accession to the celebration of the European Week of Mobility.
Jódar has reported that Lorca joins the commemoration of the European Mobility Week.
An event that will take place from September 16 to 22 under the slogan 'Mobility active collective health' and for which many activities have been organized ".
The Councilor stressed that "one of the proposals agreed during this celebration will be the deactivation of the traffic lights on Avenida Juan Carlos I during business hours, putting them in amber, a measure to favor pedestrian priority and that will also serve pilot test to assess future actions to be carried out in one of the main arteries of our city. And, also, after this test a survey will be carried out on the acceptance of the measure both at street level and through social networks. "
On Saturday, September 21, the event called 'Ciclovida' will take place, a pedestrian and cycling experience to celebrate the 'Day without a car'.
And for this, the traffic cut will be carried out on Juan Carlos I Avenue and the reading of a manifesto in which the health and environmental benefits of active mobility, traveling on foot or by bike will be exposed .
The event will also recognize the different associations and oenegés of the city that advocate and work for mobility and the Union of Merchants will conduct a raffle of 25 bonds of 20 euros to spend in the affiliated shops and a snack will be offered "detailed the Mayor.
Irene Jódar has highlighted "the creation of the 'bi-registry', a registry with which to control and study the bicycle park of the municipality. A voluntary initiative that has been launched nationwide by the Network of Cities for Bicycle, RCxB, with which the bicycle owners obtain a badge, a kind of registration with which it is intended to prevent theft or loss.This registration can be made on the website wwww.biciregistro.es and will be validated in any of the established offices that will appear detailed on that same page. "
The Councilor for Mobility also reported "the holding of a photo contest whose theme will be sustainable mobility and for which there will be collaboration with the Popular University. The contest, whose bases will be available on the mobility portal www.mobility. lorca.es, will be open until October 31 and will be awarded a first prize consisting of a photography course at this Center and a second prize that will be an access bonus to the Felipe VI Sports Complex ".
