Fulgencio Gil: the current local government works to satisfy the whims of the vice mayor and cover his controversies instead of attending to Lorca.
They don't pick up the phone, they don't answer people and they've hidden in their offices
The Speaker of the Popular Party in the City of Lorca, Fulgencio Gil, has said that the balance of the 100 days of Citizens and PSOE at the head of the Consistory, has fulfilled the expectations: as disappointing as expected.
The current local government works more to satisfy the whims of the vice mayor than to respond to the needs of Lorca.
All Lorca can see how they have stopped Lorca and all relevant projects remain blocked.
There is no political action or management.
The streets, squares and parks, both in the town center and in districts, are dirtier than ever because Limusa is a chaos.
As if that were not enough, they no longer serve people, do not pick up the phone, and have hidden in their offices.
Nor have they advanced anything regarding the homes of the new Barrio de San Fernando that are owned by the City Council.
They have no project for this matter, they have not tried to agree on anything and the only thing we have in front of them are 59 empty houses, days passing by and time lost.
We are going to support what the neighbors propose, being very clear that the new Neighborhood that has emerged cannot suffer setbacks or repeat failed experiences of the past that at this point all Lorca people know how they ended.
The current government, of Citizens and PSOE, has not moved a finger to solve the main problems that Lorca have.
What is happening with the IBI bonus for those affected by earthquakes is probably the clearest example.
After all that we have worked over these years, and what the Lorca have fought to respect this bonus, as soon as the political sign in the City Council has changed, they have stolen it.
It is a real calamity, whose negative consequences are accentuated because we have also lost the agreement of 3 million euros that the State owes us for investments in districts, and, to finish off the "work", they still do not condone the part of the interests of the help to the victims by the earthquakes.
Another obvious case of inability to manage is the abandonment of the works of the Palace of Justice.
After all the elapsed time this situation does not deserve another qualification than that of shameful.
The works have stopped more than a year.
Neither Citizens nor the PSOE have even tried to claim that the works began.
The plot, there continues, accumulating weeds while the facades deteriorate.
It seems they are waiting for it to fall.
The neglect is total.
It is a calamity, because we Lorca have worked hard to recover the monuments of our historic center and we had our hopes in building the Courthouse to take advantage of the movement and synergies generated by an infrastructure of this magnitude.
We continue with the project of the Bullring blocked, stopped and without any real progress due to the lack of interest of Citizens and PSOE, a negligence that we also find in the works of the Marin Way, the stabilization of the Portijico, the arrival of the AVE, the underground, cleaning of boulevards and the park in the block that was demolished in the neighborhood of San Cristóbal, among other issues.
Lorca can count on the Popular Party and we have demonstrated this by working with institutional loyalty and putting constructive proposals on the table.
As a closer example, we must point out that it was we who had to convene the Limusa Council and approve the procedures for the urban transport service to continue working.
In exchange for our collaboration, the only thing we received were statements disregarding our work.
Thus we can hardly maintain a climate of cordiality.
To the serious deficiencies that citizens and PSOE suffer in the City Council in its aspect of public management, they are added the fact that the current mayor has to spend more time and energy in fulfilling the whims of the vice mayor than in any other matter.
Paco Morales has become the main problem of the current local government due to his lack of work, his continuous childish controversies and the pride he gives off.
It had never been the case that a councilor, let alone "a vice mayor," left Lorca for 3 days in an emergency.
This matter will not be forgotten.
The director general of Emergencies, also of Citizens, was dismissed for going to the Theater a couple of hours.
Using the same standard, what does Isabel Franco have to do with a vice mayor who was "unaccounted for" for 3 days?
