This is a section of 13.35 km located in the Autonomous Region of Murcia in which the most significant structures will be 1 viaduct, 5 overpasses for crossing roads and paths, 1 pedestrian underpass, 1 pedestrian walkway, the extension of the La Hoya station and the construction of a new station in Lorca
The Board of Directors of Adif High Speed ​​has awarded, for an amount of 59,277,633.41 euros (VAT included), the contract for the construction of a new section platform belonging to the Mediterranean High Speed ​​Corridor on the Murcia-Almería route .
Specifically, it is the Totana-Lorca section.
This action includes all construction and civil engineering work planned in the project of the new high-speed connection between Murcia and Almeria, planned for mixed traffic (travelers and goods).
The objective of the project is to generate in this section a railway platform for double track that allows the circulation of trains at speeds of up to 300 km / h.
These actions are part of Adif's commitment to guarantee the full integration and permeability of the new railway infrastructures in the territories through which they run, as well as to increase the reliability of railway traffic and passenger comfort.
The Murcia-Almeria LAV is approximately 200 kilometers long.
The contract has been awarded to Contracts and Sales (Convensa) and has an execution period of 32 months.
Totana-Lorca section
The section Totana-Lorca has a length of 13.35 km that run through the municipalities of Totana and Lorca.
The most significant structures of the route include the construction of 1 viaduct, 5 overpasses for the crossing of roads and paths, 1 pedestrian underpass, 1 pedestrian walkway, the extension of the La Hoya station and the construction of a new station in Lorca .
With this new award, an important boost is given to the development of the necessary actions to complete Almería's connection to the high-speed network in the shortest possible time.
On the other hand, Adif AV has recently awarded, for the amount of 2,615,129.4 euros (VAT included), the consulting and technical assistance contract for the control of the works in the Totana-Lorca section.
The purpose of this contract, with an execution period of 39 months, is to provide assistance and consulting services for the execution of the technical and economic support necessary for the correct execution of the works according to the established quality, environmental and safety conditions .
European funds
This action will be co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) through the Multiregional PO of Spain 2014-2020, Thematic Objective 7: Sustainable transport.
