The Councilor for Sports of the City of Lorca, Irene Jódar, has announced the start of several of the sports programs offered from this Department and has encouraged all Lorca and Lorca to have an active and healthy life.

The Edil de Deportes recalled, also, "the beginning of the rest of the sports schools with which the Department of Sports collaborates. Sports clubs in the town that have launched a wide range of sports schools that are developed in the various sports facilities and spaces Lorca has a total of 36 sports schools that encompass a total of 25 sports modalities: athletics, chess, basketball, handball, boxing, cycling, fencing, soccer, futsal, rhythmic gymnastics, golf, judo, multisport, swimming, synchronized swimming, orientation, paddle, paragliding, rugby, sport rescue, table tennis, tennis, archery, triathlon and volleyball. "
Jódar Pérez has detailed that "for the most part, they will be developed in the different municipal sports facilities: Felipe VI Sports Complex, San Antonio Sports Complex, Antonio Vidal Ruiz Ginés Sports Complex, Ciudad de Lorca Soccer Complex, Alfonso Embarre Soccer Field and Los Tollos, Sports House, Pavilion of San José, Pavilion of Alamedas, pavilions of districts as well as natural spaces of our surroundings ".
The Councilor has revealed that "with this complete and varied program of sports schools encompassed in the area of ​​youth and sports of the Department of Sports program for the 2019-20 academic year, it is intended, on the one hand, to meet the existing demand, and on the other, to expand the offer that allows young people from Lorca to begin in sports practice under a playful, educational and social context. All of this is part of the comprehensive sports training process designed by the Department of Sports of Lorca. "
Irene Jódar has also highlighted "the start of the Maintenance Gymnastics program, included in the area of ​​'Physical Activity and Health', and which, together with aquatic activities and swimming courses, are one of the programs most demanded by the Lorca population and will be taught in the Pavilion of San José and in social centers and women's associations of different neighborhoods and districts, with the modality of 2 or 3 days a week. "
The Councilor for Sports explained that "among the contents taught in this course are the physical condition: endurance, strength and flexibility; motor skills, and psychomotor: spatial and temporal perception; agility, pace and coordination, all under a focus playful, recreational and social and using a methodology and ways of working adapted to the new trends of healthy physical exercise.And this program is intended for people aged between 30 and 65. Thus, the Department of Sports continues to bet heavily on promoting physical exercise among the entire population in order to generate habits of physical activity and improve the quality of life and health of the population.
