Despite this drop, the general unemployment rate registered an increase of 33 people, for the 35 workers who lost their jobs in agriculture and the seven who did so in the field of construction.
The Councilor for Local Development and Employment of the City of Lorca, Isabel Casalduero has assessed the unemployment data for the month of September made public today by the Regional Employment and Training Service (SEF).
Specifically, last month it closed with 4,717 unemployed, unlike the 4,684 registered in August, resulting in an increase of 33 people without work.
Despite this increase, Casalduero emphasizes that "unemployment remains lower than that registered during the same month of September of 2018, which closed with 232 more unemployed, standing at 4,949".
According to the Councilor for Employment has highlighted the fact that unemployment has fallen in the industry sector, which registered 404 unemployed unlike 410 in August, in services there has also been a decline of one person, standing in 3,066 unemployed and in the group without previous activity, where September has closed with 320 unemployed, two less than in August.
As for the rest of the sectors, the most significant increase has occurred in agriculture that has closed the month of September with 616 unemployed, 35 more than the previous month, followed by the construction in which there are 311 unemployed, 7 more than the month previous, "especially since they are sectors in which we find a greater seasonality of contracts, many of them subject to the season."
By age, the local Local Development has reported that the greatest rise has occurred in the age range of children under 25 years that has passed from the 336 of the month of August, to the 367 unemployed with whom it has closed September.
Between the ages of 25 and 44, they are located in the same months of August 1960, and in those over 45, two people have signed up for unemployment in the last month, whose data have gone from 2,388 in August to September 2,390.
The councilor explained that this is a rise in the rate of negative municipal unemployment, a general increase that has led to the national increase in unemployment data since 2010, so it is "necessary to continue applying new policies of training, employment and promotion of labor incorporation to reduce the number of unemployed in the city. "
Casalduero reiterates that "one of the main objectives of the Government team is to create job stability, end the seasonality of hiring and improve the quality of the contracts that are formalized, which allow us not to have to talk about new increases in unemployment in our municipality. "
