The spokesman of the PP in the municipality of Lorca, Fulgencio Gil, says that they have begun to turn the receipts "before the inaction of the PSOE that has not done anything in Madrid"
"There is no legal or political impediment for the Government of Pedro Sánchez to discount 50% of the IBI's receipt to those affected by the Lorca earthquakes," said deputy spokesman of the Popular Parliamentary Group, María del Carmen, at a press conference. Ruiz Jódar who, together with Fulgencio Gil, spokesman for the PP in the town hall, has presented the initiative that will be discussed this week by the Regional Assembly, urging the Government of Spain to approve a Royal Decree that collects this aid to the 44,000 residents of Lorca affected.
Ruiz Jodar believes that the Socialist Executive "has only made excuses" for not giving the green light to this measure.
And he recalled that "being in office has approved more than 40 royal decrees, the last one will be next Friday to help with 300 million euros to those affected by the bankruptcy of tour operator Thomas Cook."
For the regional deputy of the PP, "Pedro Sánchez is the first president of the Government of Spain who turns his back on the Lorca affected by earthquakes," and has urged him to "continue with the aid established and that are so necessary to complete the reconstruction process ".
The spokesman of the PP in the municipality of Lorca, Fulgencio Gil, estimates that "after eight uninterrupted years of bonus of the IBI, we are facing the most resounding failure of the municipal government of Lorca."
"Pedro Sánchez turns his back on Lorca while the socialists here do not paint anything in Madrid," he added to remind that receipts have already been issued to 44,000 residents of the municipality, which represents a global outlay of 7.5 million Euros
"We are facing an exceptional measure, when there are still 300 families awaiting the reconstruction of their homes," said Gil, who has also claimed the Government of Spain the 3 million euros pending reintegration by the Ministry of Finance for the districts.
"The López Miras government has fulfilled its commitments to forgive the interests of those affected while the Government of Spain is pending to do so," he said.
