The Community has started the piloting foundation that will allow the construction of the bridge over the Guadalentín River, a fundamental structure in the work of the second section of the Central Round of Lorca.
The General Director of Roads, José Antonio Fernández Lladó, today supervised the action, which has an investment of 3.6 million euros.
Fernández Lladó highlighted the "importance" of this phase of the action in which the field is deepened "to fit the piles that allow the bridge board structure to be sustained", which will be 116 meters long and 21 wide ,5 meters.
It will have two roads that will be structurally separated, so it is actually two equal bridges attached to each other.
"Thanks to this bridge we will link the San Diego neighborhood, where it will connect with the first section, with Santa Clara Avenue," said the director general, who indicated that the great benefits of this new infrastructure will be the improvement of road safety and traffic flow
Since the work resumed, services for diversion of services, preparation of foothills and reinforced earth on slopes have already been carried out.
After the construction of the walls, the foundation of the central pile and the stirrups and the elevation of the stirrups, piles and beams, we will proceed to the assembly of the beams, the execution of joining knots and the installation of the board.
Finally, two seven-meter roads will be built, with two lanes of 3.5 meters per direction, two sidewalks of 1.5 meters, two bike lanes and a medium one, after which the signage will be installed.
In addition to the bridge, a new roundabout will be built at the intersection on the Cartagena Road and the Guadalentín river crossing speedway and a traffic light intersection will be fitted in its connection with Santa Clara Avenue to facilitate all movements.
All services will also be replenished, about 40 LED type luminaires and almost 200 woodland units will be installed.
