The arrival of the AVE, the underground project, the renovation of the suburban trains, and the execution of the pending works, constitute the main issues addressed in the work session
The Spokesman of the Popular Party in the City of Lorca, Fulgencio Gil, has held a working meeting with the Minister of Development of the Autonomous Community, José Ramón Díez de Revenga, to plan the execution of the important projects that are materializing in our municipal term, and of those that are planned to be carried out over the next few months, as well as sharing the existing concern regarding the arrival of the AVE to the city, the state in which the project of the underground of the railway line is located and the problem that concerns the neighbors integrated in the Villaespesa Soterrada platform, as the main issues.
Fulgencio Gil has stated that we have shared our concern about the delays that the arrival of the AVE to Lorca has been accumulating.
Needless to remember at this point the broad string of dates and commitments that have been breached with the Lorca, until we get the firm agreement of the Ministry of Development for the arrival of the AVE to the city, with dates, investments and specific deadlines.
However, the central government has destroyed this planning, and the investments that we had already tied up for the Lorca, the PSOE is taking them to other regions to pay their "electoral toll" with nationalists and independentistas.
From the Lorca PP they have stressed that the central government has to satisfy the historical debt it has with Lorca in rail matters, as we are suffering the dire consequences of the most serious mistake made in train communications in the recent history of our country.
I am talking about the closure of the train lines that connected Lorca with Almeria and Granada through Almendricos, and that the PSOE, ruling in Lorca, Murcia and Spain, executed against the interests of our city and all the municipalities of Almeria and Granada, cutting off the development possibilities of a large region that was condemned to live on its back.
The leader of the PP of Lorca also recalled that the PP requires that the central government respect the investment of 8 million euros to modernize the commuter trains announced and committed for more than a year, and that it is paralyzed by the socialist government.
Fulgencio Gil said that after more than a year of vindication and struggle with the neighbors, the reality is that we continue without any compromise or real alternative solution for the dozens of families that will be affected if the overpasses are not changed. others inferior in Villaespesa.
We will demand that the Ministry clarify at once what is happening and that we will not accept any proposal other than the one the neighbors support.
In Lorca we are not going to "swallow" the walls they did not want in other cities.
We have to continue promoting the development of the multiple projects and investments that thanks to the support of the Regional Government of Fernando López Miras are being executed in our municipality, and that will benefit multiple enclaves both in the urban area and in our districts.
Along with the culmination of the works of the central round, the intervention for which we are working with more enthusiasm and effort is the integral improvement of the San Antonio neighborhood, which includes enabling an underpass for vehicles in the current roundabout, a place that It constitutes the main circulation node of the municipality.
We are talking about a work that will begin in a very short period of time, with an investment of 3.7 million euros, and that will eliminate the traffic jams that are now registered in San Antonio.
It is a problem derived from poor planning by the Government of Spain when the highway was built, and whose damages we continue to pay today.
We must remember that since the early 90's the Popular Party put on the table the need to find a definitive solution to the problem they had generated, and the only response obtained by the PSOE was the construction of dark underground corridors, dirty and insecure, and that were made against the opinion of the neighbors themselves.
That money could have been used to execute some of the interventions that the Lorca people needed.
