These awards, organized by FESVIAL, have been delivered at the III National Road Safety Convention coinciding with the 'Trafic Hall 2019' held last week at IFEMA, Madrid.
The Councilor for Citizen Security of the City of Lorca, José Luis Ruiz Guillén, has informed that the Fesvial Awards for Road Safety granted by the Spanish Foundation for Road Safety have recognized in this edition the work of the Chief Commissioner of the Local Police from Lorca, José Antonio Sansegundo Gálvez and the Deputy Inspector of the Local Police of Lorca Welcome Romero, for his professional career in Road Safety and Road Education.
The mayor of Citizen Security and Local Police of Lorca said that "the Spanish Foundation for Road Safety has presented these VII Fesvial Awards for Road Safety as part of the III National Convention on Road Safety coinciding with the celebration at IFEMA, Madrid, this past week, of the 'Salon Trafic 2019'.
Ruiz Guillén stressed that "with these distinctions the Local Police of Lorca continues to demonstrate that it is a benchmark in road safety and road education in Spain, and as proof of this, the awards to Chief Commissioner José Antonio Sansegundo, who has received the Medal of I pray for her professional career in Road Safety, always having her present and preferably in projects on the restructuring of the public roads of the municipality since the earthquakes of 2011. And the national distinction for the Sub-Inspector Welcome Romero, Gold Medal for Road Education , for his professional career in this area, training students and citizens of different groups and directing important projects to continue training and prevention in this area. "
The mayor of the Local Police maintains that "as proof of this good work on safety and road education, there is a low accident rate in traffic accidents in the municipality of Lorca. However, we must continue working and insisting not only to reduce this accident rate, but try to disappear "0 accidents", because behind the winners or distinguished, there is an excellent staff responsible for executing these demanding projects. "
Ruiz has pointed out that "with these distinctions, FESVIAL intends to show and reward nationally, the great work that the local police perform daily in the improvement of road safety, in road education and training aimed at different segments of population and age, and to promote good practices that contribute to increasing safety and mobility on the move ".
FESVIAL that organizes these awards has the collaboration and support of DGT, SECRIM, CNAE Foundation, AESLEME, Observatory of Road Criminology and Professionals for Road Safety, FEMP, UNIJEPOL, FETEVI and Redvial Spain.
In these VII National Fesvial Road Safety Awards, the Silver Medals for Road Safety, Silver Medals for Road Education, Gold Medals for Road Safety, Gold Medals for Road Education, awards for Good Practices in Road Safety and Awards for Good Practices in Road Education.
The Jury that has evaluated the candidacies is constituted by Javier Llamazares, general director of FESVIAL, by Mar Cogollos, director of Aesleme, Álvaro Gómez, director of the National Observatory of Road Safety of the DGT, Javier García Cuesta, Secretary of Security Policies Vial de Unijepol, José Mª Riaño, general secretary of Anesdor, José Mª Quesada, Content Advisor of the Ponle Freno Platform of Atresmedia, and José Mª Puente, Responsible for the RTVE Radio 5 Road Safety program.
