The PP managed to finalize a technical solution after much effort by the municipal technicians, and even completed all the "paperwork" and the money reserved.
The new local misgovernment has stopped the project
The Speaker of the Popular Party in the City of Lorca, Fulgencio Gil, has described as "totally scandalous" that Citizens and PSOE still do not move a finger for the residents of Portijico 4 months after the PP left the technical solution defined and money reserved.
It is a very serious irresponsibility, since it cost us a lot of effort, work and a very complicated technical work.
We leave the work done and money in the accounts of the City Council to execute this work, and instead of taking advantage of our heritage, they have stopped everything.
It is the second time in three months that since the Popular Party we are obliged to go out publicly to denounce the disinterest and abandonment of Citizens and PSOE against the neighbors of Portijico.
I have to remember that we even prepared the work for the consolidation of the existing retaining wall, and the expropriation of the site began.
The current local misgovernment spends more time and energy to cover the scandals of the vice mayor than to take care of the people.
They are in frivolity and the superfluous.
What Citizens and PSOE have to do is to stop vanities and deal with what is really important, people's needs and priority actions.
In this specific case their marginalization towards the problems of the Portijico is more than evident, since we left them all the work done, and they only had to sign.
What we demand is that they expedite the project of integral improvement that we have already awarded, and that contemplated the work of consolidation of the existing retaining wall, having also begun the procedures for the expropriation of the plot.
We are talking about a comprehensive urban improvement intervention in the surroundings of Portijico Street that had to be completed, including the consolidation of the existing retaining wall, the creation of a new green area in the current site and the renovation of Gregorio Street Garcia
From the PP we managed to take forward the beginning of the processing of the contracting file related to the stabilization works of the wall located in the plot between the streets Gregorio García and Portijico, located in the Barrio de San Cristóbal, an action to which we added the Expropriation of the existing plot to provide the neighborhood with a new green area with a vertical garden, following the model that has given such a good result in the Plaza de la Hermandad de la Curia.
Fulgencio Gil said that the work of consolidation of the wall and the slope of the street Gregorio García had to be finished, because they are missing the commitment to the neighbors, because it is a priority action that was important to implement as soon as possible to that the families that reside outside their homes can begin the rehabilitation of the houses and return as soon as possible.
This operation was a real challenge, given the complex processing it has required, in which different municipal areas took part, and the extreme complexity of the technical solution that we had to articulate, also requiring the supervision of external experts.
We demand that the works be started at once, which is already well of delays and of generating restlessness among the neighbors.
These works consist of the stabilization of the existing reinforced concrete wall, by means of the execution of anchors to the land, and its continuation until finalizing in another wall of smaller height to secure the houses, and in which it is planned to regrow it until the Gregorio García street level.
It should be noted that the period of execution of the works is two and a half months, and we demand that everything possible be accelerated for the benefit of all the residents of the area.
In parallel, from the PP we also started the process of expropriation of this plot to build a green area in the heart of the Barrio de San Cristóbal.
This action includes the construction of a public park and a hanging garden with the aim of decorating the wall.
In addition, a heading to consolidate Gregorio García Street is included within the remodeling project of Portijico Street.
