The Spokesman of the Popular Party in the City of Lorca, Fulgencio Gil, has demanded the immediate tender of the renovation works of the bullring of Sutullena, which already takes a delay of more than 4 months because of the total disinterest of Citizens and PSOE
The case of the bullring is another example that adds to the extensive list of projects that Citizens and PSOE are delaying due to their inability to manage.
In the time they have not moved a finger to carry forward the extensive battery of major performances that we leave fully prepared.
The rehabilitation of the Coso de Sutullena is left with the drafted project and the money raised, in the absence of contracting the works.
Well, they have lost time for months and we continue in the starting box.
From the PP have said that the reality is that Lorca is stopped because of citizens and PSOE.
It shows in all places and in any management plot.
They spend their energies and their time trying to cover up the controversies and scandals of the absent vice mayor, instead of caring for people.
It is incredible that this situation has been reached, since if the work is not finished before the end of 2020, the financing is lost.
The leader of the PP has stressed that on this issue we also leave everything done, just missing the easiest.
In fact, to make restoration possible, the Lorca PP managed to have the Autonomous Community allocate more than 1.7 million euros, included in the Master Plan for the Recovery of the Cultural Heritage of Lorca affected by the earthquakes of 2011. A money that remains reserved, waiting for Citizens and PSOE to fulfill their work.
We are talking about an emblematic project, whose works already had to be running, and that is called to become the space of leisure, culture and entertainment that Lorca had been demanding for years, and that we want to enjoy in the center of our city, just taking a walk and within the framework of our wonderful Alamedas.
Its recovery is a fundamental pillar for the social, cultural and commercial revolution that we want for Lorca with the aim of taking advantage of the unbeatable infrastructure that we have been able to build together after the earthquakes.
Fulgencio Gil has explained that it is not a simple recovery, but that it is an ambitious project that aims to make the Sutolena Coso a tool available for the cultural, social and leisure dynamization of our city.
The square is a symbol, it is a monument, but now it has to be a multipurpose space that multiplies the cultural agenda and enriches initiatives of great value.
Regarding the execution of this intervention in the Coso de Sutullena, according to the indications of the technicians, the damages caused by the earthquakes were considerable, so the reform will begin by consolidation and recovery, adapting the cost to the new cultural and public space regulations.
For this, services and functions will be modernized, relocating vomitory, improving and expanding access and significantly increasing the comfort of the localities, both of the laying and the box, making it a versatile, functional and very comfortable scenic space, even if it implies a loss of capacity
All this modernization will be carried out without affecting the aesthetics of the square, trying to make the appearance as close as possible to its original state, for which the undamaged elements will be reused.
But beyond the actions of any kind that it can accommodate, the Coso de Sutullena will stand out for its versatility, housing up to 4 spaces of different sizes that can be used for both commerce and hospitality;
They may use the ring, which will increase its attractiveness, but also facilitate its use by Lorca and visit by tourists.
The access can be made directly from the outside with the particularity that the structure of the square itself will be used to increase the attractiveness of the premises, in which there will be a window that will give directly to the alley.
They will also be connected to each other through a circular ring.
The transformation aims to musealize part of the coso, offering a visit to the chapel or the infirmary, among other valuable spaces.
A catwalk will also be enabled on the rails so that the fans can go to contemplate the specimens that will be toreados before the run.
The Bullfighting Club of Lorca will also have a permanent venue for the development of its activities and meetings.
Among the improvements we must highlight the security and accessibility measures, the dressing room and the preparation of all the relevant technological systems for the realization of musical, cultural or sporting events.
