The Councilor for Culture of the City of Lorca, María Ángeles Mazuecos recalled that "at the government meeting held last Friday it was approved to request this grant of € 800,000, whose concession to the City Council today has not been approved by the Council of Government of the CARM, reason why the Consistory has not been able to initiate the tender of the works when not having the economic availability for it ".
According to the mayor of Culture, "as of January 2019, the government board approved to request a subsidy to the General Directorate of cultural property of € 799,998 for the structural consolidation of the beetle mill, board agreement that was presented in February 2019 in the Autonomous Community ".
Mazuecos has indicated that "in June of this year a letter from the General Directorate of Cultural Property was received in the City Council in which reference was made to impediments of technical nature in relation to the project and in which they requested an administrative documentation for the purpose of being able to process the subsidy, a modified project that was presented at the General Directorate of Culture last September. "
The mayor has detailed that "this month has received another letter from Culture in which the modification of the government board agreement is requested, to ask for the € 800,000 grant as it was reflected in the initial project."
Finally, Mazuecos has been hopeful that the administrative procedure "can be resolved as soon as possible so that money arrives to consolidate this building."
