CSIF has learned that last Friday, October 18, the union section of CCOO in the City of Lorca denounced the dissolution of the UPROL unit in a statement.
It should be noted that unlike what the CCOO union alleges in its press release, the Local Operational Prevention and Response Unit (UPROL) is not composed of 1 Inspector, 1 Subinspector and 7 agents.
Actually, that unit is composed of 3 groups with a total of 1 Inspector, 3 Subinspectors and 18 agents.
That only 1 sub-inspector and 6 agents will stop serving in these units, which will be regrouped in a new unit known as UDIP and, this restructuring is a consequence of all the deficiencies that have been generated during these last years. , and that have led the bulk of the workforce to request that the number of people in the ordinary service of districts increase with the sole purpose of improving the quality of the service and guaranteeing a quick and efficient response to the needs of the citizens of Lorca.
The remaining members of the UPROL Unit will continue to perform the services but are included in another unit called GES (Special Security Group), continuing with the performance of the tasks they were assigned as well as other functions that allow to solve the deficiencies that may arise. .
The CCOO union has completely forgotten to mention that in the newly created unit, UDIP will also regroup the unit, previously known as UESCARM and currently called UAP consisting of 2 Sub-inspectors and 10 agents who have already suffered, In these last 10 years, 3 different restructuring.
From CSIF we do not understand the position of CCOO regarding this restructuring, when in recent years there have been several regrouping and modifications in the staff of the local police of Lorca that have affected the work and personal life of colleagues and in none of them the CCOO union expressed against.
The members of the UAP unit have been providing an excellent service in all the districts of Lorca, acting as a genuine local police, attending all the daily needs and requirements of the residents of Lorca and now, with the next restructuring they will redouble their efforts to provide the best possible service to citizens.
All these decisions taken by the current Headquarters have been previously informed to all the unions by the established formal channels and, in order to solve the structural deficiencies that were taking place and that, gave rise to that, in many occasions, there was only a local police patrol in shifts like the one at night for the urban case of Lorca with approximately 59,000 inhabitants and a patrol for the rest of the population centers that make up the municipality of Lorca, generating circumstances such as that a single patrol has to perform different services in the same shift in places as far apart as Avilés, Almendricos or Ramonete, with the risks that entail for the agents and the damages in time and efficiency that these distances entail to give an adequate service to the citizen.
