The President of the Autonomous Community, with his personal involvement in this matter, achieves an extension of the planned date for the execution of the works, extending it until December 2021

The Speaker of the Popular Party in the City of Lorca, Fulgencio Gil, has welcomed the achievement by the President of the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia, Fernando López Miras, for the extension of the deadline for the implementation of projects which are executed in Lorca financed through the loan that CARM obtained from the European Investment Bank (EIB).

Fulgencio Gil said that from Lorca we congratulate Fernando López Miras for the achievement of one of the most important issues that Lorca had on the table, such as obtaining the extension we needed to complete the projects financed by the Regional Government through the loan with the EIB.

We know that the President has worked intensely and particularly to make this extension of the term possible, and that his personal involvement has been key in this matter.

We are facing an example of the degree of commitment that our President always has with the issues related to Lorca.

It is one of the best news we could receive, since it allows us to conclude with the necessary guarantees, and with a more lax timeframe, the improvement works that the Regional Government, through its different councils, is carrying out in our term municipal.

The work that has led our Regional President has paid off, making Lorca have the time it needs to complete the works and projects that are already underway, and that include both the interventions necessary for the recovery of the vast historical heritage that we treasure, but also to finalize the large battery of urban renewal works that are underway, along with the improvements in our extensive network of roads and highways.

Fulgencio Gil explained that in 2012 the Regional Government of the Popular Party secured a loan from the European Investment Bank (EIB) amounting to 185 million euros, whose purpose is the financing of reconstruction and rehabilitation of residential, educational buildings and of cultural heritage, and roads, as a result of the earthquake that affected our city in 2011. This loan includes an investment execution schedule.

Thanks to the personal involvement of President Fernando López Miras, the calendar of the actions that are affected by the loan has been extended until December 2021. Thus, eligible projects can be framed in the period between May 2011 and December 2021. We must remember that before this modification the period was between May 2011 and December 2019.
