The City of Lorca has not yet received official notification from the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia about the extension of the EIB.
The mayor of Lorca, Diego José Mateos, has spoken about the extension that the European Investment Bank has granted to finalize the projects initiated in the city on the occasion of the urban regeneration works that are being undertaken.
Mateos explained that "a few weeks ago that, unofficially, they informed us from the Autonomous Community that there would be no problems to carry out the completion of the works that are pending execution and that are already approved but we have believed that, appealing to an institutional loyalty that we do, wait for the official notification to make it public, a notification that we have not yet received but that seems to have been sent to the Popular Party of Lorca. "
The First Edil has detailed that "that is why, from the City of Lorca, what we are doing is not rushing and in works such as those in the Plaza de Toros, for example, what we are doing is taking the time to do good specifications, good conditions and avoid committing, as has been the usual trend of recent years in other public works, errors that have caused problems where the obligations of entrepreneurs have not been clear, that is, it is about developing some specifications that guarantee a good execution of the projects ".
Mateos Molina has shown that "this extension is good news to ensure that all those projects that are pending can be completed and that this execution is not jeopardized by the European Investment Bank (EIB), although we doubt it is on the status and execution of section III of the Round ".
And it is that the mayor has remarked that "we doubt not the execution, but because the work was not done at the time, it was not modified in General Plan, a simple modification that this new Government Team made during its first Municipal Plenary since only the will to work was necessary, there was no need for any type of investment, it was simply a matter of changing the specific point that affected the section. "
"A modification that if it had been carried out before would have already allowed the work to begin because the structural changes of these plans, to any City Council, involve several months and even a year for the execution of those changes, which, if the modification we join the execution, we do find that financing dangerous, "Mateos reported.
The mayor has stated that what the president of the Autonomous Community, Fernando López Miras, committed to is to work so that this concrete project goes forward looking for or an exceptional extension justifying that without that section the rest of the works do not make sense or well looking for other additional funds so that this much-needed round does not remain undone.
