This is the second phase of the regional campaign "The Value of Water" that began in June 2018 and is the result of the Corporate Responsibility Policy of the mixed water company.
The Councilor for Public Companies of the City of Lorca, Francisco Morales, participated this morning, together with the manager of Aguas de Lorca, Antonio Franco and the president of Hostelor, Jesús Abellaneda, in the presentation of the 2nd phase of the Campaign "The Valor del Agua "launched by Aguas de Lorca, the result of the Corporate Responsibility Policy of the joint venture.
The mayor of Public Companies has explained that "in this second phase of this campaign the company Aguas de Lorca joins Hostelor with the aim of raising awareness about 'The Value of Water' promoting the consumption of tap water in hotel establishments, for what that the restaurants and bars of Lorca will make available to their customers tap water to raise awareness about the importance of the resource in the Region. "
From today the hoteliers of Lorca will supply tap water in the more than 200 glass bottles that Aguas de Lorca has made available to you thanks to the direct collaboration of Hostelor.
These bottles are the main icon of the sensitization campaign 'The Value of Water', which aims to raise awareness about the importance of this resource for the development of the Region of Murcia and in general of any territory, as well as highlight the effort made in its sustainable management.
A resource on which 'agriculture, industry, employment, the price of light and, above all, our future and that of future generations' depend.
The councilor thanked "both Aguas de Lorca and Hostelor for this initiative that highlights the predisposition between the different entities of the municipality to activate initiatives for the benefit of all" and recalled that "the City Council aims to make Lorca a A better city, which will be the one that combines the care of the environment with the provision of technology at the service of the citizen.It is essential to carry out the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals and what better way to do it through a company like Aguas de Lorca that aims to care for the waters for all Lorca. "
This collaboration between Aguas de Lorca and Hostelor constitutes the second phase of the campaign and aims to attract attention and encourage both hoteliers and their customers to the consumption of tap water in bars and restaurants since, according to the Manager of Aguas de Lorca, Antonio Franco, "drinking tap water is not only a guarantee of health, given the very high quality standards that control it, but also that simple gesture contributes significantly to the fight for the protection of the environment, reducing the amount of plastics generated ".
The bottles, which will be arranged in the bars of 52 bars and restaurants, will be accompanied by posters with awareness messages where you will be informed about the number of bottles that would be necessary to perform the basic functions of our daily routine such as showering, scrubbing the dishes or brush our teeth
Regarding this collaboration, the president of Hostelor, Jesús Abellaneda, has pointed out the importance of a "leading initiative, which places the Lorca hotel sector at the forefront by providing the possibility for customers of bars and restaurants to freely use tap water."
In parallel, in relation to the impact of oil spills on wastewater, this agreement between Aguas de Lorca and Hostelor has had the support of Jobufer, making stickers that encourage recycling.
It should be remembered that the first phase of the campaign began in June 2018 when it was presented next to the City of Lorca in the Huerto Ruano through a 'Water Tasting' aimed at some groups of the municipality.
'El Valor del Agua', a regional campaign promoted by Hidrogea, a private partner of Aguas de Lorca, has been recognized internationally as a finalist in the 10th edition of the Co-Responsible Awards organized by the Observatory of Responsible Communication (ObservaRSE) and the Corresponsables Foundation.
The final result of his candidacy for Best Corporate Video will be resolved on November 5 at the Gala to be held in Barcelona.
