Of the nine fighters, seven have won a trophy: two of them have proclaimed themselves world champions and the other five have been in second position.
The Councilor for Sports, Irene Jódar has received, this morning, at La Casa del Deporte, the karatekas who have participated in the WKB Karate World Championship and in which they obtained magnificent results.
Two of them proclaiming themselves World Champions, and the remaining five obtaining second place in their respective categories.
The mayor of Sports has stressed that "the karatekas have achieved extraordinary results in this sporting event that was held on October 18 in Chile, and in which the 9 Lorca fighters competed with the best teams in the world, such as Ukraine, Poland, Russia, Greece, Chile, or Kazakhstan among others "
Jódar recalled that "a total of 9 fighters have represented Lorca, of which 7 of them have won a trophy which means a great pride for the city, so from the Department of Sports and the City of Lorca we give congratulations, and we encourage you to continue fulfilling dreams and reaping successes. "
For his part, Sabina Fernández, coach of the Spanish WMB karate team, said "the good results, the result of great effort, and the enormous discipline that all these fighters demonstrate."
In addition, he said "that the team is now focused and preparing for the European Championship that will be held soon in Poland."
