The Councilor for Development of the City of Lorca, Isabel Casalduero, has overseen the preparations for some work that will begin in the coming days and also include the comprehensive renewal of services.

The Councilor for Development of the City of Lorca, Isabel Casalduero, oversees the preparations for the improvement works, which will begin in the coming days, on the Caravaca road and whose purpose is to increase the safety of drivers and neighbors in the area.

Casalduero explained that "the work will begin with tastings to locate services and the main work units will be aimed at a renewal of the pavement of the road, seven meters wide, which will be distributed in two lanes, one for each direction of circulation".

The mayor has stressed that it is "a very necessary action with which all the services in the area will be renewed, such as water supply, sanitation and rainwater network, there will also be a renewal of sidewalks and asphalt pavement , as well as the bending of part of the rambla. Some works that are being executed by the Regional Government under the European Investment Bank (EIB), with an execution period of 10 months, and a budget of 1,341,534, 26 euros. "

Casalduero Jódar stressed that "the action is a commitment to increasing security in one of the main communication routes to the A-7 from the urban area of ​​the city that is used, daily, by more than 4,600 vehicles. A remodeling that includes the creation of two roundabouts, which will improve the crossings of the area, and that will be located at the intersection with the RM-C15 road, which gives access to the ships of the Incarnate Pass, and another over the bridge that crosses the Rambla de Los Arcos ".

The Councilor for Development has recalled that "to speed up the work will keep traffic completely cut on the Caravaca road, from the Olcina crossing to the RM-C15 road junction, better known as the 'old swamp road', allowing only the passage to neighbors with garage.The vehicles of less than 6 meters in length from Caravaca, regardless of the address, will be re-directed by the Caravaca road, Highway A-7, Portijico street (where parking will be prohibited), Beato street Pedro Soler and Plaza de la Estrella while the alternative deviation for heavy vehicles will be through the service road of the A-7 "motorway.
