The event is scheduled for Sunday November 24 and these other activities include a Eucharist in the Patron Sanctuary that will be officiated by the vicar of Lorca, Francisco Fructuoso.
The Councilor for Culture of the City of Lorca, María Ángeles Mazuecos, presented this morning, together with the president of the Brotherhood of the Virgen de las Huertas, Isabel Jiménez, to the president of the Brotherhood of San Clemente, Luis Torres del Alcázar, the image that will announce the Jubilee Pilgrimage of Brotherhoods of Glory to be celebrated in Lorca on Sunday, November 24, on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the canonical coronation of the Virgen de las Huertas.
The mayor of Culture has indicated that the Brotherhoods and Brotherhoods of Glory of the diocese of Cartagena will meet in our city, in an event organized by the Delegation of Brotherhoods and Brotherhoods of the Region of Murcia, with the collaboration of the Bishopric, the City Council de Lorca, the Brotherhood of the Virgen de las Huertas and the Brotherhood of San Clemente â€.
Mazuecos has encouraged all Lorca to participate in this event with which we can demonstrate, once again, the devotion that the city of the Sun has towards its patron and that becomes visible every time the image of the Real de la Virgen de Las Huertas processes through the streets of Lorca, or in other activities such as the floral offering or the traditional transfer on the occasion of the 'small fair'.
For its part, the president of the Brotherhood of the Virgen de las Huertas, Isabel Jiménez, has detailed that “the events will begin that Sunday at 9 in the morning in the Plaza de España where the reception will take place for all participants, arriving from different points of our Region, at 9:30 am the act will begin with the signature of the different presidents of the Brotherhoods and Brotherhoods in the book.
At 10 o'clock the jubilee pilgrimage will begin until the patron sanctuary with the accompaniment of different crews, and from 12 hours there will take place the central ceremony of this event, the Eucharist that will be officiated by the vicar of Lorca, Francisco Fructuoso and that will count with the participation of Choirs and Dances of Lorca â€.
From 13 hours there are planned guided visits to the Califal Palace where you can see the remains found under Convent.
At 2 pm, the planned activities will conclude with a meal at the 'Los Cazorlos Restaurant' in Lorca.
As for the poster announcing this event, it has been the work of lorquino David Torres del Alcázar, a graduate in art history and who was also the author of the image of the poster of the festivities in honor of the Virgen de las Huertas of which We could enjoy at the beginning of September.
Torres del Alcázar has thanked the confidence that, once again, the Brotherhood has shown "counting on me for the design of this poster with which to announce this important event in which the Brotherhood of the Virgen de las Huertas will be the host."
The president of the Brotherhood of San Clemente has detailed that “it is a panoramic format poster that emulates the magazines printed in the forties, date of the Canonical Coronation of Santa María la Real de las Huertas.
The composition shows us the Patrons of Lorca: San Clemente and the Virgen de las Huertas with a rigorous profile solved in a digital pen â€.
And he added that “these numismatic portraits remember the royal effigies used in the currencies reserved for the sovereigns of a territory, in clear allusion to the High Patronage and protection they exercise over Lorca and the Lorquinos.
The Patrons direct the gaze towards the castle of the city as an allegory of the whole municipal term, maximum manifestation of the defensive structure of Lorca during the Middle Ages in times of border and timeless and unquestionable symbol of the city â€.
