The Autonomous Community and the Association of residents of the Lorca neighborhood of San Fernando again request the State to extend the deadline for the reconstruction of homes damaged by the earthquakes of 2011 in Lorca, which concludes on December 31.
They consider it "urgent" that measures be taken to ensure that 400 families have completed the work in their homes without having to return the public subsidies received.
The Minister of Development and Infrastructure, José Ramón Díez de Revenga, held a meeting today with the president of this association, Fernando Roldán, in which both showed their "concern for the inaction of the State" in a situation they described as "alarming" .
"The solution is in the hands of the State, we can not do more," said the counselor, and indicated that "it is enough that the Council of Ministers modify an article of a royal decree law whose draft is already prepared."
He recalled that the Community requested it for the first time in October last year.
The regional Executive also endorsed the vindication of the neighbors so that the Ministry of Development condones the interest of delay derived from files of reimbursement of the aid granted to alleviate the damages of the earthquakes, which the Community already made in 2018. " Solution to this issue involves processing a budget modification in the current year or including remission in next year's budget, "said the director.
The regional official said that "this demand is of crucial importance," and promised the president of the San Fernando Neighborhood Association to send a formal request to the Ministry of Development to "act once and for all, act and give solutions to this problem that depends solely on the State ".
