Francisco Javier Martínez: "It is about taking advantage of the hours in which it remains closed so that it opens its doors. After what it has cost us to rebuild our monuments, we must undertake initiatives so that they can be visited."
The Councilor for Culture in the City of Lorca for the Popular Party, Francisco Javier Martínez, has proposed the development of an initiative to provide more activity to the Guerra Theater.
It is about promoting the development of visits to know their different rooms, dressing rooms, prosceniums and even the section itself.
To do this, following the model of other great theaters both Spanish and European, we propose conducting themed and guided visits for all interested persons, including actions promoted towards children.
It is about taking advantage of those hours in which the Theater remains closed to open its doors to everyone, with guided tours that go through all the war zones, such as the wardrobes and the hall of the 1st and 2nd floor.
The objective is to reverse the usual sense of the stage, that is, that the scene jumps from the tarp to all corners of the Theater.
This initiative is configured as an experience similar to the activities that are also carried out in other monuments of our city with a profile similar to the initiatives that we can enjoy on the Night of Museums, which we are already aware of the high degree of popular support they have.
Our proposal is for Lorca to know the extraordinary architectural heritage of our city.
We can be proud of our history and our monuments, and in the particular case of the Guerra Theater, it is more than fair to enhance the importance of the oldest theater in the Region of Murcia, built in 1861, and whose tables have passed the best theater companies and dance of the contemporary panorama.
The modern Lorca cultural scene cannot be understood without the contribution projected since the War stage.
It is, without a doubt, the main building of the main events of the life of the municipality, and our proposal is aimed precisely at claiming its importance, remembering all that it has given us and disseminating it to all people.
In parallel, in addition, it would serve to provide us with a new attraction for tourism, contributing to enrich the offer we make available to people who visit us
From the PP we have worked hard to ensure that our monumental heritage could recover from the serious effects of the 2011 earthquakes, achieving, through the Master Plan for the Recovery of Heritage, that our most important buildings were again available to Lorca. .
In fact, we are an example at the international level in the recovery of assets.
Now, after everything that has cost us to overcome stages of reconstruction and reach the current level of recovery, we want to deepen initiatives so that our architectural jewels can be visited and have their doors open for everyone.
The objective we pursue is to make the efforts of these years socially profitable.
Special programming to celebrate the 160th anniversary of the War.
Francisco Javier Martínez has also proposed to start the work necessary to form a special program that commemorates the 160th anniversary of the inauguration of the War Theater, which will be fulfilled in 2021. We are aware that this type of action requires special preparation , so, in a totally constructive way and with the sole objective of providing proposals that add up, we propose that this matter be started to be addressed to offer Lorca a special program.
