Jaime García, spokesman for Accessibility and Inclusion of the local Committee of this training, has denounced that a locality in the only areas accessible to these people costs triple that for those who can buy tickets in the general area or the amphitheater
The spokesman for Accessibility and Inclusion of the Local Committee of the United Left-Green Lorca, Jaime García, has denounced the impossibility of allowing people with reduced mobility to access the general area of the Guerra theater or its amphitheater.
This forces them to acquire only seats in the armchair or stalls, much more expensive.
In fact, for some theatrical performances the general rate, in unnumbered locations, is 5 euros, while a seat in the only areas accessible to these people reaches 15. That is, neighbors with mobility limitations are forced to spend, on average, three times more when they go to the Lorca's Coliseum.
Therefore, the councilor of the United Left-Greens in the City of Lorca, Gloria Martín, will raise a plea to the next Municipal Plenary for the City Council to apply discounts for this group so that this discrimination is ended.
"As long as the same conditions of access to the Guerra theater are not favored for all people, it is a matter of justice not to overpay those who are obliged to travel on crutches or in a wheelchair," said Martin.
In this regard, the mayor of IU-Greens recalled that many theaters in other cities have reduced tickets for people with disabilities.
