The Councilor for Equality of the City of Lorca, Antonia Pérez, has presented, this morning, the "Christmas School to Conciliate and Coeducar" that will take place the next months of December and January.
The councilor for equality has explained that "the purpose of this program, for which there are a total of 108 places, is to provide services for reconciling work and private life in the municipality of Lorca, covering the needs of care for children between 3 and 12 years old. "
Pérez has added that "these conciliation services will cover the needs of children, in part of the non-school periods, while their parents are working or receiving training for employment."
In addition, other objectives are "to transmit to the participating children co-educational attitudes and values ​​using games and artistic expression as educational means, to contribute to the elimination of gender roles and stereotypes, as well as to contribute to making visible the contributions of women in the development of family, community and society in general. "
The mayor has detailed that this "Christmas School to reconcile and co-educate" will be held in Lorca Center, during the Christmas holidays, from December 23 to January 3, Monday to Friday from 7:45 to 15 : 15 hours at the facilities of the CEIP San Fernando de Lorca, next to the Municipal Pavilion of Las Alamedas.
These schools will cover the needs of children, in part of the non-school periods, while their parents are working or receiving training for employment.
This program is promoted by the Department of Equality of the City of Lorca co-financed by the European Social Fund and subsidized by the Ministry of Women, Equality, LGTBI, Families and Social Policy of the Autonomous Community of the Region.
It is also co-financed by the City of Lorca, through the Department of Equality and has the collaboration of the Department of Education.
Pérez has detailed that this Christmas School will be developed workshops and varied activities, such as games and presentation dynamics with a welcome mural.
Several workshops, among which the development of a Collage on the importance of Coeducation, Stewardship and Conciliation, carried out as a team by the children participating in the program.
The workshop of responsibilities and shared tasks at home and in the family, aimed at raising awareness among participating girls and boys about the benefits of collaborating in the tasks and responsibilities of their families, especially about the benefits of well-being, equality and the equitable distribution of the uses of time in the family.
From Coeducational Stories to promote reading, analysis and reflection on coeducational stories that offer egalitarian models between sexes, without establishing differences between men and women or boys and girls.
A theater workshop is also planned with which to learn basic notions of theater and the capacity for representation and creativity is developed, while traditional stories that reflect gender stereotypes are critically analyzed.
As well as a sewing workshop and costumes for the theater of coeducational stories with which it is intended to promote creativity and imagination, as well as to learn basic sewing notions, contributing to eliminate gender stereotypes.
Recycling workshop to raise awareness about the care of our planet.
Workshop of expression of feelings with which you are educated for the expression of emotions by girls and boys, without establishing differences based on sex and educating to establish positive relationships with other people.
Workshop women in history.
This workshop aims to make visible the contributions of women to society, sensitizing boys and girls to be aware and value the work done by women, in the family and the community in general.
Likewise, aspects about the life of important women in history will be shown, which are not usually reflected in traditional textbooks.
