Diego José Mateos has asked to "go hand in hand and put aside the particular interests of each of the municipalities, leaving aside the political orientation of each session."
The mayor of Lorca, Diego José Mateos, has participated, this morning, in the meeting of mayor of the municipalities of the Guadalentín Region organized by the Regional Confederation of Business Organizations of Lorca (Ceclor).
Mateos has made a double thanks "in the first place to Ceclor for promoting and coordinating this meeting and, also, to the mayors and mayors of our region who have come to Lorca to address all those needs and pending issues that unite us."
The First Edil has highlighted the importance of issues such as "railway infrastructure, water, avenues prevention, health, education ... in short, a meeting to get a common voice to defend them strongly against higher administrations such as the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia and the Government of Spain. It is about showing that they are not issues of an individual nature, but that it is an issue that affects the entire region. "
Another of the most prominent issues for the mayor of Lorca is local financing and has asked the national and regional governments "a joint effort and strengthen the provision of that 30-40 percent of improper powers that have the municipalities and that we have to finance with our own resources and, therefore, forcing us to withdraw them from other needs and competences that we are required to provide by law. "
Mateos Molina has described the meeting as "very positive" and, in addition, has requested "that today does not stay in a sporadic meeting, that we must give it regularity to follow up on the documents that today come out of this meeting, of this forum, and go including the new needs that arise. "
"We have to trust to give content, go hand in hand and put aside the particular interests of each of the municipalities, leaving aside political orientation because today we are an example of cooperation with up to three political formations but we have projects in common and, therefore, it is a first step to continue doing region ", insisted the mayor of Lorca.
Diego José Mateos has assured that "we fear that we will become the second economic and institutional axis that historically has been the Murcia Guadalentín axis, each of the municipalities has our potential, our resources and we have much to contribute to the Region of Murcia, but to That also we have to receive that support that allows us to continue growing and, in the face of entrepreneurship, we cannot be an obstacle to the generation of employment, we must be facilitators and catalysts of infrastructure, of services that allow the business network to grow to get new general quality jobs that activate employment, consumption and, as a whole, that activate the economy of the region.
