The mayor of Water and Agriculture, Antonio Navarro, reiterates that "all political parties must go hand in hand in the defense of the Tajo-Segura Transfer, an infrastructure that generates employment and wealth for the municipalities of our Region."
The Councilor for Water and Agriculture of the City of Lorca, Antonio Navarro has recalled the commitment of the Government of Spain for the maintenance of the Tajo-Segura Transfer, as well as the interests of Murcian farmers, and specifically those of the municipality of Lorca.
The mayor of Water and Agriculture recalled that "in the ten months that the central government has been in operation is the first time that this measure is taken not to send 7 hm3 and that since the Segura Hydrographic Confederation subject the decision of new shipments of water to the need for resources. "
Navarro has again insisted on "the need to go all political parties hand in hand in the defense of this infrastructure generating employment and wealth for the municipalities of the Region."
He has asked the Popular Party to "cease once and for all their demagogy and stop lying to citizens with the mantra that they steal our water."
And he recalled that "it is the time that more water has been transferred to our region in recent years and I can say that almost all these shipments come from the hand of a socialist government."
According to data from the Ministry for Ecological Transition, Navarro has referred to the 82.5 cubic hectometers for irrigation, corresponding to the 2016/2017 hydrological year, with a Government of the Popular Party, and 192.5 of the current hydrological year with the Executive by Pedro Sánchez, "one more example of his commitment to the regional primary sector".
And he has concluded that "from the government team we will continue to demand the sufficiency of water resources to govern who governs."
