The Autonomous Community has invested 1,854,814 euros to double the number of public housing in the Lorca neighborhood of San Fernando.

In total, the Regional Administration has built 18 homes that will be destined for families with few resources, following the requirements established in the Public Protection Housing regulations.

This was announced by the Director General of Housing, José Francisco Lajara, who checked today the state of housing, and indicated that "for the reconstruction of this neighborhood, the Community had to adapt the current regulations and quality standards, as well as expand the number of public housing units. "

"Of the ten existing at the time of the earthquake and two commercial low, they are extended to 18 homes, two parking spaces and a commercial low," said the director.

He explained that, once the homes are definitively qualified, they will be delivered to the City of Lorca for management, and it will be the consistory who makes the award of them.

José Francisco Lajara said that "the regional government has always been next to those affected by the earthquakes in Lorca" and recalled that to rebuild the city and improve its infrastructure the Community makes a total investment of 346 million euros, of which 214 , 6 million, 62 percent, are used to rebuild neighborhoods and homes, as well as aid for affected families.

The Community completed the recovery works in the San Fernando neighborhood in April, to which it allocated a total of 4.5 million euros.

Of these, 1.9 went to the reconstruction of 232 homes and 2.6 to the urban renovation of the neighborhood, which has a total area of ​​25,000 square meters.
