The day, organized by Cazalla Intercultural in collaboration with the Department of Youth, and whose registration period will be open until December 4, aims to work on prevention and fight against aggressions among young people, offering them learning processes for action with sensitivity of genre.
The Councilor for Youth of the City of Lorca, José Ángel Ponce said that on December 9, the Huerto Ruano will host the international conference "NEW GENDERATION: educating young people against gender violence: from education to action ", organized by Cazalla Intercultural, in collaboration with the Department of Youth.
The mayor of Youth has detailed that "the talk, which will take place between 10 and 20 hours, is part of the New Genderation project, a two-year project, coordinated by Cazalla Intercultural together with partners from Poland (Szansa) and Bulgaria ( PEN), co-funded by the European Union Rights, Equality and Citizenship Program (2014-2020), with which they intend to work on prevention and fight against gender violence among young people, offering them learning processes for action with gender sensitivity. "
During the conference, the educational and action process against gender violence in Spain, Poland and Bulgaria will be explored in greater depth: Sharing success stories and the challenges faced.
In the afternoon, there will be a talk / workshop led by BASHA CHANGUERRA, director of Afroféminas (Responsible Delegation Afroféminas Catalunya), in which she will present inspiring success stories of campaigns and actions against gender violence in Spain.
Finally, concrete actions will be planned for the participating localities among the main actors (youth, educators and youth professionals), both locally, regionally and internationally.
The conference will end at the Mercado de Sol with music, activities and a closing cocktail.
Ponce said that "in the framework of this same project, other activities have been carried out, both in Lorca and in other locations in Bulgaria and Poland, involving more than 1000 young people in workshops in institutes, summer camps and awareness campaigns ".
A MOOC has also been created, a massive open online course, on how to work on the subject with young people, where around 1700 people working with young people have participated.
Another of the results of the project is the educational mobile application called New Genderation (https://play.google.com/store/search?q=newgenderation&c=apps) that invites young people to make daily challenges promoting good Treatment and gender equality.
All experience and good practices are compiled in the Project Manual.
