This week began the pastoral visit to the area of Lorca by the arciprestazgo of Lorca North.
The Bishop of Cartagena, Mons. Jos Manuel Lorca Planes, visited La Paca on Monday;
on Tuesday, the auxiliary bishop was in Zarcilla de Ramos;
Mons. Lorca on Thursday resumed his pastoral visit to Fuensanta;
and this Friday he has been in Coy and Aviles.
A very intense week that Mons. Lorca values as “an enriching experience” that has exceeded the expected expectations, “especially when seeing the illusion of people and what it means to be able to listen, for my part, to everyone, because there are spaces to chat with children, young people, adults, with people who are engaged in the different tasks of the parish ”.
A time that is also allowing the pastor of the Diocese to visit the sick of the different parishes: “When you go to the house of the elderly, because it is the oldest in the town or because it is sick, it is the whole family that opens Your home and also your heart.
They really are unforgettable experiences, ”explains the bishop.
Sal Snchez, pastor of La Paca, Zarcilla de Ramos and Fuensanta, says that his parishioners have turned, “in an incredible way,” with the bishop's visit.
“In some of these small towns, they sometimes feel abandoned, in many ways.
That the bishop has decided to start his pastoral visit here is a reason for joy, ”explains the priest.
The closeness of both bishops with children and youth is also something that Sanchez emphasizes: "many children had never seen a bishop."
The parish communities have participated intensely in this pastoral visit and have thanked “the love and comfort of words and gestures.
The bishop has confirmed us in the faith.
It has been the passage of the Lord through these peoples. ”
Mons. Lorca will resume the pastoral visit on December 9 in Almendricos;
on 12, the bishop will go to El Esparragal;
13, to La Hoya;
and on the 14th and 15th it will be in Puerto Lumbreras.
On Sunday December 22, the bishop will move to Santa Gertrudis and Marchena.
After the Christmas holidays, Mons. Lorca will resume the pastoral visit on January 13 in the city of Lorca.
“Living the pastoral visit is an adventure of closeness, of love, of being able to celebrate the faith,” says the pastor of the Diocese.
